More like a GW of heat... Thankfully I'm sure that will counteract whatever has caused it to be over 80 degrees on my way to work before 0700.

The only air conditioned room at my first duty station was a closet they called a server room... No one wanted to do the computer stuff when the cool toys were on the airstrip.
As for advice... Don't be scared, every adult you meet is faking it to some extent and it took me a long time to realize it. Also, be wary of random advice on the internet lol.
Which is reason enough to go with Debian (I have an unreasonable issue with snaps).
It was 81 degrees (27 for the rest of the world) out this morning on my drive to work before 0700. I didn't have air conditioning growing up so maybe my memories are skewed but it seems way hotter now than it was in the 80s/90s (Captain Planet warned me about this).
You get heavier, totally anecdotal evidence on my part but I've stepped on the scale in the morning, let a glorious one rip, and the number went up by 0.1.
I am not saying that I gained 0.1 lbs, just that afterward the scale rounded it up instead of down.
That almost makes it a steal, $20 for delivery or $20k + fees (tag, insurance, license, etc) + the cost of the food.
I do get your point though, the shit we have in the US terrible, the are only really walkable places are only in a few overly-expensive areas.
Been on it for about 19 months now, it's what Android should be.
Even the play store is sandboxed. Those stupid games covered in ads, no where near as bad when the app never has a network connection or access to any files outside its directory.
Umm... Around the year 2000 I worked at a couple of different convenience stores in the south, ours were never cleaned, shit they were rarely changed with the exception of Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper because our regulars would tear through them. I remember the lines being clear...ish? They had the embedded nylon or whatever in the clear tube but ours were way nastier than my 18 year old brain wanted to realize.
Totally not advocating violence but have you looked into PCP rifles (or handguns). They are not the air rifles of my childhood, they are quite impressive. Most importantly they aren't considered firearms so you can get them in lots of flavors (single shot, semi auto, full auto) mailed right to your door. Lots of calibers to choose from (I think I've seen a couple .72 caliber out there), but I'm a fan of small calibers for the cost (500 shots for around $10 if going with cheap 14.3 gr pellets).
My current favorite is an air venturi avenger in .22 caliber. I get around 40-60 shots between airing it up, I used a hand pump for a few months but could never get much above 3,000 psi, with a relatively cheap compressor I get it up to around 4,300 psi (4,300 is the max for mine, I usually stop it a little shy).
I'd definitely agree, solid ground and a tent would make putting them in the sleeping bag a bit less important (plus then you can use them as a pillow). Having them in our bag was just something I was taught in basic training and it worked well the few times I have woken up with frost or ice on my outer shell (all Army related "camping").
In the decades since I've slowly shifted from big tents to a small travel trailer, it's so much better on my joints lol.
I don't know, I've been in some hot places but massive cooling towers tend to radiate a bit more (now I know what I'm reading about today) and a data center without the ability to pump heat outside isn't going to make it a whole day before it's toast.
Not necessarily disagreeing, just curious about how much heat is dispersed by the ones here.
