Man they got fucking robbed. Amazon has it for only $944 The Amazon review though...
If you are concerned about wasteful spending I highly recommend going with this price from Amazon
EDIT: Yes, I'm pretty sure they paid $1,000 for it and then reported $19,000 pocketing the difference. As someone who has lived their whole life in Tennessee (and has worked for a period of time in State Government), that's Southern politics 101. Days where they aren't fleecing the taxpayer are few and far between here in the Southeastern US.
I thought the Dems might try to save him
It's his own party that ate him. Dems don't need to anything with them. Dems are trying to keep the country running, they cannot also play mom to every single GOP whiny baby that tosses a fit. The Republicans have got to get their shit together or don't and split into two parties. Because a schism this large that has them sabotaging their own Speaker of the House, like the unity in the party is gone at this point.
As far as Dems being on the hook about this, this is all I have to say about it:
kbin users. If you're wondering why you're seeing this image, that's a feature of Kbin. Weird image caching and what not.
Because the Speaker is elected by the majority. So the removal has to be by some part of that same group that put the Speaker there in the first place. That usually happens only when a schism appears within a party and part of being a well oiled political party is to prevent schisms forming.
Actual Republican leadership, like the organization that is the Republican party, not the folks that are part of that organization within the US House, has become a complete and utter cluster fuck of unmitigated magnitude to put it in insanely nice terms. Historically it took a lot of backbone to manage former Dixiecrat and Nationalist groups operating within the Republican party. Under Reince Priebus, long story short, all that fucking went out the goddamn window. And Ronna McDaniel, seeing the complete dumpster fire that is the Republican National Committee, decided the best thing to do was to bring TNT inside jugs of gasoline and see what happens.
I mean, there's not really a whole lot of policy that happens anymore at the RNC, it's mostly become a group that focuses on donor groups and arranging them in... whatever logic it is that they use for priority for promotion. Long standing policy has mostly been delegate to those groups and is largely outside the RNC at this point. Which brings up the question, what the fuck is the RNC even used for now?
With SuperPACs largely legal now and the pretense of a unified political party gone, the only thing that I can imagine the RNC is actually useful for anymore is that they're enshrined in a lot of local law to allow them to be on the ballot, and that's about it. But yeah, usually political parties have way more control over their group than this. Gaetz just randomly firing off at his own is evidence that the RNC has lost 100% of their power over their members and exists only as a means to funnel money into a group for exchange for a protected right by law to be on the ballot.
Bickering like children and they think they can hold impeachment hearings on Biden? They can't even function as a single political party much less navigate complexities like fact finding, legal investigative process, and case building.
Gaetz has shown that the Republican party has gone so deep into political paranoia that they fear even each other and must resort to extreme measures like a motion to vacate to "test" ideological purity to one another. The GOP is crumbling but in its complete failure, it will provide a larger path for more extreme megalomaniac personas to invade what the GOP once was.
All this does is ensure that the GOP further descends into madness.

Doctors are seeking the highest compensation. Insurance companies are seeking the lowest compensation. The surprise is what they agree to pay and you being left with the difference.
It's basically Godzilla and Muto fighting it out, the US Government saying "Let them fight", and the cities they destroy while being allowed to fight is the American public.

The observable universe: The most of the Universe that we can see from Earth. There's more universe past what we can see (we think) but we just can't see it.
Circumference of the observable universe: We can only see so far out into space from Earth in all directions, so that makes a circle that has Earth at the center of it. That circle has a circumference, which is the length of that circle if you were to actually walk it.
Calculate circumference: We calculate circumference with the formula 2πr, where r is the radius, the distance from Earth to any one point along that circle we just talked about.
Pi: Pi is irrational and goes on forever. If you calculate the circumference with only five digits of pi, there's a bit of a "rounding" error in your calculation. If you want a more accurate value, you add in more digits of pi. The more digits you add, the more accurate you are.
Accuracy of 1 hydrogen atom: so the furthest we can see out is 46.508 billion light years (I'm not going to get into how we can see that far with a universe that is only 14 and some change billion years old, but we can). So 46.508 * pi * 2 = 292.218382266 billion light years. That's how long the path would be if you were to walk the edge of the observable universe. In meters that would 2.7645993537522 * 10^27.
If you used 5 digits of Pi you would be off by something like 100s of lightyears, or basically billions of meters. If you use 40 digits of pi you would be off by 120pm or 0.000000000012 meters. So for most things, 40 digits of pi is accurate enough for pinpointing any particular atom within the universe. Obviously we can use fewer digits of pi when we want to land a giant rocket on a massive planet like Mars, but knowing 40 digits is good enough for atom sized things, it gives us an upper bound of how accurate we actually need to be. So we can forgo using 50 digits of pi or whatever.
