Some possible reasons:

  1. One of their sources is Sudanese gold. Basically, they're helping to exacerbate the genocide in Sudan, so they can fund their genocide in Ukraine.
  2. Russia has arguably won the sanctions war. They've shifted trade to China and India. Or they're exporting raw materials through third countries to Europe, or transfering oil at sea, bypassing sanctions at a relatively low cost.
  3. Made deals with other oil producing countries to not increase production, so that prices remain stable.
  4. War isn't that expensive, unless you're the US (and care about casualty rates). North Korea. Dirt poor country, almost entirely cut off from the world, still manages to maintain a sizeable military and even develop nuclear weapons. Russia? Old soviet stock that was rusting in a barn, North Korean shells that occasionally kill your own troops, troops you only pay if they survive if at all. Send prisoners to the front, saves money on prisons. Send people from the poorest regions, so you don't have to pay them much, and it doesn't negatively affect GDP that much.
  5. Do like the Russians did during and after WW2. Rape and pillage. Russia is actively stealing Ukrainian resources, equipment and grain from the occupied territories.
  6. Sell (or barter with) pariah states like North Korea or Iran military technology they would otherwise not have access too, like nuclear or ballistic tech.
  7. War time economy means you can cut lots of stuff. Education, pensions, healthcare, drugs... all very expensive. Not as if the kids dying at the front will need an education anyway. Hell, apparently they're sending disabled soldiers back to the front. Great way to get healthcare spending down.

Can I report a church I don't attend, just so they become paranoid about who snitched?

Normal people, in principle, do not live in this country.

They do, it's just that like you they've learnt to be careful about what they say, and to be selfish because they need to survive.

Or they once cared, but life ground them down, so they sought escape in alcohol or whatever. Obviously, this is by design. If people were open about being unhappy about their country, this would threaten the government. Not that this helps, but maybe it'll help you feel less alone.

I can't help you with work, but reading, tv, gaming and podcasts can be a great help when you don't have access to mental health services.

Fiction allows you an escape from your daily reality. English language fiction allows you to learn the language Non-fiction allow you to work on your issues. Not as good as therapy, but better than nothing. If concentrating on long texts is a problem, try listening to audiobooks.

Eg. a good book about PTSD is The Body Keeps the Score.

Oh, and obviously get a VPN and pirate everything, even if it's for your own safety.

Cosplay communists.

No one who's an actual communist would support Yeltsin and the Oligarchs' friend Putin.

It does.

Democrats want Biden to win the election. Haley being nominated makes that harder.

If they don't want her to be nominated, they're not going to help her get nominated, are they?

5 second google:

A POLITICO analysis shows the former South Carolina governor is winning swaths of moderate voters who’d pick Joe Biden if Donald Trump wins the GOP nomination.

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/12/09/haley-electability-trump-biden-polls-00130926

GOP’s Haley attracts non-Republicans ... also regularly attracts swing voters who backed President Biden in 2020 ... Leaning into her appeal to the political middle on the trail, Haley highlights surveys that show her leading Biden by double digits — 17 percentage points in one recent Wall Street Journal survey

https://www.washingtonpost.com/elections/2023/12/18/nikki-haley-democrats-republicans-presidential-2024/

43 percent of Haley backers in the state said they would vote for Biden if Trump is the GOP nominee ...

https://thehill.com/elections/4408071-almost-half-of-haley-supporters-say-they-would-vote-for-biden-over-trump-iowa-poll/

Democrats acknowledge Haley could pose more of a threat to Biden than Trump, so they are tying her to the former president on virtually every issue ... Democrats privately acknowledge that she would likely represent a worrisome opponent for Biden, citing polling that shows the former governor as the best-positioned candidate to unseat the sitting president in the general election.

Nikki Haley would likely win against Biden.

She's (relatively) young, she's a woman, she was born to immigrant parents, she's taken a tough stance on Russia, she's not obviously nuts.

If anything, the democratic establishment wants Trump to be the candidate. It'll make a Biden re-election easier.

Causality.

Some people aren't unhealthy because they don't walk enough, they don't walk enough because they're unhealthy or have an underlying condition.

Someone in a coma ain't walking much, but that's not the main reason they're more likely to die sooner rather than later.

He wants to split the 50 billion in 4 installments, so they can cause trouble once a year.

All this for the equivalent of €10.6 per European in grants per year for four years, money we will make back ten fold in savings by avoiding the need for increased defense spending if Ukraine loses.

Tiresome.

The EU needs to be reformed ASAP. We need a European military and proper Europe wide defence industry cooperation ASAP.
