I have always found it a bit bizarre how some Americans will proudly advertise the fact they have loads of very expensive things in their house.
If I had a gun collection, and I live in a rural area with a lot of hunters so I assume plenty of my (European) neighbours do, I'd keep it quiet.
The whole Syria thing already caused us lots of issues in Europe. Arguably the civil war was caused in part by climate change exacerbating a drought. The surge in refugees helped the far right and populists across Europe and was a factor in brexit.
I can only imagine what'll happen if it gets worse. Children of Men is likely to be eerily prophetic.

Small Gods and Mort for example, are excellent. Currently not available on bbc iplayer / sounds, although they do regularly rebroadcast them and make them available online, but should be floating around on the torrent or archive sites.
BBC sounds/radio is free to listen outside the UK, unlike the tv content.
