I vaguely remember comments about the force's post investigation not wanting to be racist in suspecting gangs. Being little more than ignoring the fact the teen girls had no option to consent. While ignoring the threat or fear as the motive when they refused to testify. Just assuming the girls were involved in underage prostitution willingly. This attitude as I remember increased the fear in these victims as the police became a threat that just returned the girls, rather than a potential solution.

Add to that the amount of NATA equipment that is controlled by the US. Even though the UK has a huge number of it's own military patients. The last 50 years has concentrated on US inferstructure to support our forces. As is most of NATO.
It is rather insane to think any western nation can act in a way opposed to the US opinion. Even when the US is unlikely to attack for it. They are very able to shut our forces effectiveness down. Let alone in situations like this were the US power structure is obsessively in support of Israel no matter what they do.

Much depends on the house. Traditional UK family housing with 2 plus stories and fron and back windows are far easier then modern subdivided multi flat buildings.
The older building allowed concentrating on air flow by opening highest widows and drawing curtains that face the mid day sun. While opening lower windows on the low sun side. During the night crated a natural flow of air.
Modern housing means the internal divisions and often lack of non concreted areas. Often prevent cooler air being able to flow. Or existing if the concrete hass 0 shading from the days sun,
Single level can still do it. But much less effective as the temp difference is less. But when the internal layout limits airflow from the high sun to low non sun side. Way harder.
Downstairs fans running overnight while sleeping with upstairs top windows open. Can be a huge difference.
Or just remembering the direction goal of fans. iE removing higher air while pulling in from lower.
It's common for folks to place the fan between them and the window blowing at the bed. This is the worst thing as you are preventing hot air from leaving. Assuming you are not on the lowest floor.

My guess haveing delt with the process. Moving to a green card process supported by marriage. Meant her student visas no longer applied. Only being married for 1 year. As this is why such claims are temp to begin. Means she may be deported well before her student plans are complete.

But amature radio covers such a wide field nowadays. Most with some technical interest can find something they like.
If you look up M0IXP it was not valid in 2004. I had a US licence under KG4ZGG from the FCC then. And have had 2 other between. M0IXP is mine for life now. As it is a level where much of the world either let's me use it(lookup CEPT and amature radio). Or will issue a new local call sign if I show them the UK one (reciprocal licence agreements with the UK in non CEPT member nations). The others were all at lower levels. This leads many full licence holders to use the hobby as an excuse to travel. Tend to call them DXpeditions when groups do it.
Yes this is a vain attempt to sell my hobby. Ignore if not interested. But it's good to find newbies if folks are. It can also be way cheaper now then it was when I started. Due to hams developing SDR and huge commercial use of that tech. But cheaper is not always cheap. Depending on what type of radio interests you.

More to the point, the US as a whole has an obsession with Israel. While all NATO nations have genuine reason not to anger them.
Not only does the US spend more on its military than everyone else combined.
But a huge % of what the western nations do spend. Depends on US infer structure and cooperation to work. And as dumb as it sounds. NATO nations are only now realising that is dangerous.
Citizens in NATO nations may express questions about backing Israel. But the governments know, and disagreement with the US is always a risk. Way way more so now Trump has embedded so much support in the US military ranks.
