True crime fans say the dumbest shit when they get invested in a case and start assigning morality to literally just observational positions.

"Oh how can you say this might create doubt for a jury when you havent seen all of the evidence? How can you possibly say that?"

Literally how are you into true crime if you suddenly start having issues with speculation based on incomplete information?

Definitely got out my hitler-detector instinctually upon reading that.

Double what-the-hell when I decided to read the defense document that this is from and they write shit like "Our client is being taped during visitation by alleged odinist prison guards and therefore cant say things like 'I only confessed to the murders because the guards are threatening my wife and family'" with a footnote of "our client has never actually uttered these words, but the point is that he couldnt safely do so if he wanted to."

Truly just baffling, what in tarnation.

Not every day you wake up and find out that some relatively mundane true crime case you're vaguely familiar with just escalated into accusations of cops trying to cover up a white supremacist "odinist" ritualistic murder, and its apparently to some extent substantiated by the crime scene.

what-the-hell

The prom rejection thing is also a horrifically deranged thing to do, what the fuck.

The mosque infiltration thing I can buy as like an "emotional truth" or whatever but "my daughter was hit by a fake anthrax scare because I speak the truth too hard" is a truly deranged thing to make up. Thats not like a thing thats representative of a whole groups experiences thats a very specific event to make up for sympathy and clout.

This time, Godot is waiting for you.

Apparently instead of writing in-universe books with actual text, the books just get like summaries as their description?

Even real world public domain books like Moby Dick just get like "its about a guy whos angry at a whale, this book was very famous back before humanity went interstellar"

"Oh yeah? You're saying Starfield has no lore or worldbuilding? Heh, you must not have played the one singular questline that features a museum exhibit about the lore and world history, rookie mistake buddy!"

Dunno how you can even engage with people like this.

This is a looney tunes ass fucking health problem I swear to god like their literal explanation is that I blew too much air into my head and now my ear drum is like a balloon, this is so stupid do I need to be watching out for airborne anvils and grand pianos now?

[–] Huldra@hexbear.net 19 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Apparently I received unwise advice from my ear doctors about using pressure equalization to hear better and long story short, my left ear has too much air in it? And that has somehow detached my ear drum from the hearing bone prosthesis its supposed to be attached to and thats why my hearing is inexplicably fucked up for no apparent reason.

The letter telling me this made sure to describe it as "very unusual" and I cant even find any info online about this cause it doesnt seem like this should ever be a concern unless you are a diver.
