That description of Malalai Joya standing in the parliament and seeing just like a list of names of warlords who mutilated and tortured innocent people and women in particular, feels like a scene from a racist western political cartoon.
Like "The 'democratic' Afghan parliament" and then a row of bearded caricatures with a list of their crimes next to them, except its of course not a caricature or political cartoon, but real life, and the west actually tried to promote it as legitimate and good.
