iPhone 6s .. I remember buying it at Best Buy around 2016-17.. it got stolen 2 years later so me and my mom had bought the deal at the time for 2 iPhone 8’s and then 8+ to an X and the ladder crawls up..

Whatever you can afford. That’s what I do whenever it’s time to buy something.. I make sure I can afford to pay for it and have money left over for other expenses.
