Enough dishes have piled up in the sink that I actually, factually have to do them today, I absolutely cannot put them off another day
Hexagons
Ok, that's actually an amazing idea. I would love cans like that! And it also seems surprisingly practical. Why don't bean cans have a layer that peels away to reveal built-in colanders?!
zifnab's comment has links to:
- The Washington Post
- A paper from Duke University
- The Guardian
These seem to me like sources that wouldn't usually be prominent in facebook conspiracy theory groups.
Can you please tell me what the issue is with zifnab's comment? Why do you feel like the comment would be more at home in a facebook conspiracy theory group?
That's not the issue. She is a public figure and has shared her own photos. The issue is that Channel 7 falsely implied she regrets her transition. Channel 7 is trying to use a happily transitioned trans person as an example of someone harmed by childhood transition, and that's slimy as hell
Well you're like 98% round, that's pretty dang good! More round than I am, that's for sure!
I wish FromSoft games had a story mode or something so people could still experience the world without dealing with the bullshit. Now, I love the bullshit (mostly) and I think it's a really good, clever game that rewards you for paying attention, but I won't deny that losing a bunch of souls because you died to something stupid is extremely demoralizing. I have no doubt there's a bunch of people who would really enjoy the world of Dark Souls if they could just experience it in a more friendly way.
My two are Ori and the Blind Forest and also Soma.
I played Ori several years ago, so my disappointment with and rage at that game have cooled. It was bad though. The art style didn't look at all cohesive, but rather like there were assets from two or three different games. The story was generic and boring, but yet somehow confusing at the same time. I played through the Ginso (?) Tree escape, and I hated the movement the whole time. It was too floaty and felt imprecise. (But people speedrun it, so the movement is actually probably plenty precise, it just felt bad to me.) I also absolutely despised how I could never tell whether the environment was safe to land on or would kill me instantly. And this isn't even getting into the combat, which basically everyone agrees is bad. I don't know, I wish I had liked Ori, it feels like it should be right up my alley, but I hated it so, so much.
Soma I played recently, and I'm still seething about how much time I spent on that stupid, shitty game. Its story wasn't deep and I didn't care about the characters. The game pulled the exact same story trick 3 fucking times, and apparently expected you to still be surprised by it the third time? Yeah, no, I'd rather experience a sci fi story that doesn't treat me like I'm too stupid to understand it. The monsters also fucking sucked, they weren't scary, they were just fucking annoying. It was always extremely easy to figure out their gimmick, and once you'd done that, it was just a matter of exploiting it and hoping you didn't fuck up or get lost in the overly dark environment that all looked the fucking same. Also, I hated having to try and find the lever or button or switch or whatever that I needed to interact with. It was very hard to tell what was background non-interactable stuff and what was the tiny little switch that was blocking my progress. If the story had been good, I could have forgiven the gameplay, but it was just like tech bro's first sci fi kind of plot, I fucking hated it.
I try to stay civil outside hexbear, but this post is testing my resolve on that. Are you really so treat-brained that you're ok with forcing children to mine cobalt so you can have a smartphone?
You should take some time and think about whether that's really the kind of person you want to be
As far left as you can go, huh? I'd suggest trying to push that envelope a little bit. Instead of being disappointed/mad/sad that rich people aren't looking out for other people, try asking why rich people exist in the first place? Where did their wealth come from? And should they be allowed to keep it?
He's right though, the song is basically saying "life is hard for conservative cishet white men because of the got dang politicians taxing us", and that's a fundamentally reactionary view of the world.
If you want recommendations for good, actually working class country songs, might I recommend Woodie Guthrie? Or Peggy Seeger? They're a little more on the folk side, but they're really good.
Dude, uncalled for. Liking my little pony isn't disgusting. Fucking chill out
I'm not surprised they walked it back. They've pulled the classic "new coke" trick here: put out something deeply terrible no one will ever agree to, then walk it back pretty significantly to something still shitty and exploitative, but not as bad as what you had threatened. Your customers feel like this is a win, but they're still stuck with a worse deal than before the beginning of the debacle.
