It's hard to spell it out for you more clearly. There are plenty of people in the US and Europe advocating for the break up of Russia.

Oh of we're just talking about random senators or TV personalities then yeah Russia has lots of people that want to restore the Soviet union. I meant from people at their MOF or MOD, or in the presidents office, people who's threats would carry weight beyond playing to domestic politics.

You mean that it's bad that the USA threatened to nuke Russia when Russia was putting missiles in Cuba, or when Russia invaded Ukraine when USA said they would put missiles in Ukraine? Was it bad the USA threatened nuclear war because Cuba wanted to defend itself from a belligerent neighbour? Russia backed off, should the US back off from Ukraine? Or "this is different".
