Can you please focus your work on optimising performance for the UI? It will greatly reduce the amount of electricity and money spent, so you're actually multiplying every tenth of a second you can shave off of CPU time...
Thank you a lot for writing this software. It's been a great little project so far and it seems to go down the Mastodon route of increased popularity. Be proud!

Can you tell us more about your work shifts? Maybe you can give an example of a 5 week schedule.
I had a first look last night and my preliminary findings are that the DB is actually fine, but the frontend (server.js from Lemmy-ui) and the Pict-rs service are the culprits.
Pictrs doesn't have lots of configuration options and often calls on exiftool to to... whatever. Pictrs also seems to have to deal with a few large pictures, so we reduced the upload size.
Sadly the error users get is some JSON parse error, so this doesn't really tell them the issue and they might try to upload again.
Found a few things which we might want to open a bug report for, but we first have to set up a test server to check my suspicions.
Again, how do you know that if you didn't write any software which actually incorporates your ideas? Or at least wrote a specification or a proper whitepaper on it? With which solutions did you compare this? Where's the cryptoanalysis?
Finally I can tell people to eat shit, and backpedal without repercussions!
All I can say is that this system is much more secure and more convenient than any other that exists today.
