Those at the midpoint still have to work to live, so they are working class. 🤷
Hazor
Imo the entire concept of the middle class should be abandoned as capitalist propaganda. There's the rich and there's the working class. Anything else is a distraction to keep us from focusing on the rich stealing from the workers. Bezos owns a $500,000,000 yacht while thousands of his employees rely on government assistance programs which are funded by taxes he doesn't even pay.
I dunno. He accused the board members who pointed it out of lying. If he had nothing to hide, why say they're lying? Why not just say "I have no idea how this happened"? The only alternative explanation I can think of for accusing them is that maybe he's paranoid?
Having grown up in the ultra-conservative puritan world, with its absurd and unhealthy levels of sexual repression, I would be genuinely surprised if this guy wasn't regularly consuming porn. And he's a millennial, so I wouldnt be at all surprised by him knowing how to connect a screen...
We'll convert the bloodmouths, one way or another! The next plan is mosquitoes that make you allergic to cheese.
Bezos is halfway there; his yacht cost 500 million:

Give it a few more years and I bet one of them will buy a a billion dollar yacht. But in an ideal world, such absurdities wouldn't exist.
They were raised to be terrified of it, and so they raise their kids to be terrified of it, and the cycle perpetuates. It's hard to break. The reasoning is usually that seeing nudity will tempt them to sin. As someone who abandoned his puritanical upbringing nearly 20 years ago, I still have a hard time just being ok with human bodies - even after being a nurse for some years, I'm still not entirely desensitized to nudity.
And the propaganda machine funded by the same billionaires.
Right. I was replying to someone who reframed a tradition of Christianity in a way which highlighted how it could be seen as disturbing or bizarre to someone who was unfamiliar with Christianity; I simply did the same with another tradition.
Ugh. I'm on on of T-Mobile's MVNO's. Unfortunately, it's not like Verizon or AT&T are morally superior. What's a guy to do?
Remind me why we allowed this much consolidation of the industry?
Fwiw, the belief that it becomes the actual flesh of Jesus is a Catholic thing, by my understanding. In my Protestant upbringing, it was regarded as entirely symbolic.
Oh, and we did it with grape juice instead of wine, because apparently Jesus hated alcohol or something. Just don't ask why then his first miracle was turning water into wine.
They wear symbols of a torturous execution device as jewelry, and use it to decorate their homes.
If they don't have to work to live, they're no longer working class (Musk still works at Tesla, but clearly doesn't need to). But I'm not sure what your point is. Are you saying that those who derive their wealth from the labor of workers but who can't afford a yacht should be treated differently than billionaires? I'm not arguing that we shouldn't have progressive tax rates, I'm only saying that an arbitrarily defined 'middle class' exists solely so that you and I are distracted by exactly these discussions, and provides no benefit to determining what is justifiable economic policy.
