yea I visited the instance index some time ago because I had to pick a replacement for lemm.ee (rip in peace), saw the description under lemmy.ml and wondered whether they were being intentionally or accidentally misleading.

Attacking marine dads. This is perfect, in the sense that if marines weren't already on the side of the people, they are now. Hope this guy recovers well, because the shoulder is one thing... but this is also an emotionally traumatizing experience

I don't remember liking Grand Budapest Hotel at all, but it was a while ago, maybe my taste changed. Same goes for the Tenenbaums, I found it boring.

On the other hand I loved Moonrise Kingdom. It's a film that just exudes freedom and possibility, and has a terribly strong melancholic feel to it, even though it's a lot of action. It's the story of two kids who decide to just fuck off one day.
And there's Fantastic Mister Fox : super super fun. It also reads differently than his other films (the ones I've seen), being animated I suppose. Definitely less static than most, which I think can be a problem sometimes with his work.

Fatal bicycle accidents, I assume. The one tripping me up is radio. Of all things

About one-fourth of a top-tier professional video card, or a whole -almost top-tier- consumer card. Or a relatively decent factory-made classical guitar. That being said I'd probably go for a extrawide capo to fit my ten-string instead. And then buy coke with the remaining 950$. Regular, not diet

Damn, same here. Couldn't have described the feeling of marinating in your sheets filthy better than you have

These people are completely delusional. That sounds like what a north korean tv commentator would say

Yes, in fact (for me) I don't think it's so much breaking things down than tricking myself into thinking there's less than there actually is. I don't start by washing one bowl, I tell myself that's all there is to wash. And then when that one bowl is clean, the total amount of chores has shrunk by that much. It seems my brain can't fathom doing all in small chunks, almost as if it couldn't stand the idea of stopping midway through it for the day and resume tomorrow. It has to be either done today, or not done at all. The idea of half-done is unacceptable.
