I assume by "gaming companies" you mean game publishers. No they won't care, in fact this initiative is not meant for them. It is meant for EU lawmakers, which after a certain signature number threshold are required to look at the issue. Once a protection is written into law, these same companies have to, of course, comply with it, or face whatever consequences were prepared for this case (fines, probably).
imho that's what connects all the right, from finance bros to masculinists to racists : they're terrified. Of change, of difference. Of others. They're deathly afraid and it explains every action they take, every word they say.

2.the fact that dogs are companions -they have co-evolved next to humans for about 15 thousand years and hold a special place, contrary to animals typically consumed for their flesh
