The last 6 months have kind of blended into a haze of atrocities at this point but isn't this pretty much what Israel claimed when they started the incursion into the rest of Gaza back in October/November? Definitely seems like the whole "limited operation" is just window dressing for western audiences so I wouldn't be surprised if this quickly develops into something bigger.
good things can happen? we just elected a mayor that might actually do something to provide some form of shelter for homeless people instead of literally letting them freeze to death in the winter and trashing all of their possessions every week in the summer (not to mention the less critical but still important job of actually plowing roads in less than 7 days after major storms...)
