This is what westerners can’t comprehend. When they were allowed to travel to the DPRK they would gawk and stare and ask questions like “do they shoot you if you don’t pray to Kim Il Sung ten times a day?”. North Koreans aren’t brainwashed bumpkins. They are arguably more emotionally healthy and inarguably more well versed in the world around them than Americans. You get treated like that by some random gringo from Omaha, yeah you’re probably gonna be a little rude to them. That’s better than what those American tourists deserve.

Also in addition to what others have said, this wasn’t just a poster in some random hotel. It was a poster from a specific floor in that hotel that was used for official military purposes, has restricted access, and he was told explicitly NOT to go there.

Probably, they said they wouldn’t give any money to Ukraine without Nazifying the southern border.

Possible the GOP didn’t think Biden wanted that money for Ukraine as badly as he does, apparently. In addition to the likely corrupt reasons, I also think the Biden team is scared shitless that the front in Ukraine will collapse before November unless there’s a major cash infusion. If Ukraine collapses before then, I think Biden’s reelection chances fall precipitously. Even if they don’t, I’m sure the Dems think they will because of the conventional wisdom that Americans really don’t like military defeats. This is a proxy war but still, it’s obvious that a Russian W is an American L. Remember how much Biden’s approval rating fell when the troops left Afghanistan?

What was/is UVB-76 used for?

There was an article shared the other day that called the position of High Representative “the Viceroy of Bosnia-Herzegovina”.

Observers from other countries don’t come to Cuba because no one who knows what they are talking about thinks Cuban elections are “rigged”. Literally YOU, Shyfer, can be an observer if you really want to. The ballots are counted publicly in full view, and anyone can watch it all happen. Seriously, if you want to question it you - even as a foreigner - can just go there and watch it all happen yourself for some local election.

It’s the political equivalent of thinking you can lose weight by just popping the right diet pills instead of changing how you eat and exercising.

I had totally forgotten that she had a really shitty take on the US-backed “protests” in Cuba a couple years ago.

when the US basically already pulled out and nobody gives a fuck about it anymore

It certainly appears that way, and I thought so too until a read a story about how Trump was really screwing up the GOP’s negotiations on a “deal” for border security (not the same thing as the razor wire / SCOTUS standoff thing) with the Biden admin. The GOP has said they won’t sign off on more money for Ukraine without Biden giving them a ton of what they want vis-a-vis fascistic border and immigration policies. It appears Biden’s willing to give them what they want, so it’s still possible Ukraine gets a major cash infusion from the US soon.

I guess that would require the entire crew of the ship to be "in on it"

Lol

And Seattle has the Lenin statue.

I went to the politics sub to try and find it, and the very top post was about how Biden was leading in the national poll as if that actually meant anything.
