When you’re entire knowledge of the eastern front comes from watching Enemy at the Gates

Unpopular opinion on Hexbear, but I don’t think Trump will ever get that nostalgic W treatment. W is a special case. The reason W was evil was because Iraq. Liberals in the mid 00s, after the invasion really started going bad for the US, had some vague notion that the invasion was bad. It wasn’t from some principled anti-imperialist or even just anti-war stance. It was largely because it wasn’t quick and easy as promised so it was making America look bad; and liberals just internalized that feel as “Iraq war bad”.

But once W left office and the US wound down quite so direct involvement in Iraq, liberals lost their anger over the war because it wasn’t actually based on anything. Lose your anger over the war, and you lose your reason to hate Bush.

(That said, there were plenty of left liberals who were against the invasion from a principled stance back in 2003. But those kinds of libs aren’t the one who are impressed with W and Michelle Obama sharing candy or whatever, tbf).

“Why can’t Hitler be more like Mussolini and focus just on crushing labor movements and communists?” is something western libs definitely thought in the 1930s.

One of the few thing I got right when I was a lib was the conviction that when Democrats and Republicans “work together to get things done”, 100% of the time that “thing” is something that’s objectively very bad.

When this is over, if we largely have a return to status quo (i.e. Zionist entity not destroyed, Palestinians still living in Gaza), we can see China prove it’s quality by helping Gaza rebuild. Because there will be a LOT of rebuilding needed. I understand China’s hands-off foreign policy, but just helping to rebuild should be the minimum for a country committed to socialist, humanist values.

Thinking about the story from a couple days ago about that woman who was arrested in Russia for making a $51 donation to Ukraine.

If I (a US citizen) made a $51 donation to the PFLP, and the feds wanted to make an example out of me, how much worse would it be for me than that woman in Russia? I’m thinking a lot.

White America didn’t always have this love affair with the cops. You can find lots of media from the 70s and earlier that depicts cops in a neutral or negative light.

It was only as America became less segregated, starting in the 70s. Up until then, of course the cops were used to oppress black folks but that was largely out of sight from the white folks. Once the suburbs started to desegregate more (they are of course still highly segregated), white folks started looking to cops as the saviors of white supremacy. Even then, this really only achieved the current incredibly high levels of bootlicking after the Michael Brown shooting, when white folks began to explicitly, uncritically support cops as a way to express white supremacy without coming out and saying it directly.

Saw a video on MintPress last night of a little Palestinian girl talking about how her father was in heaven and she spends her days taking care of her little brother. She was able to hold it together until she started talking about how she doesn’t even have any bread, she’s only been able to eat some spices.

The United States is such an evil fucking country, I really don’t know if I’ve ever hated this place more than I do right now. A century of humiliation is better than we deserve. Maybe the Zionist entity is more directly responsible but the US fully enables all of this, it would never happen without the material support given to Israel as well as the diplomatic cover the US gives all their actions.

Sometimes I wish I was religious so I could believe that evildoers like Joe Biden and Anthony Blinken will get what’s coming to them in the next life.

Death to America. amerikkka

And yet, when I put googly eyes on mannequins at Target, that doesn’t become international news.

I see chuds now pushing the line that the government is giving free/cheap housing to migrants and refugees, and THAT’S why you can’t afford a home.

Chuds will go for the most racist, smooth brained reasons before blaming capitalism.

or else we’ll double in population

I strongly suspect the person saying this would be ok with the population doubling if it was all white ppl

FYI I know the common response to this is “well I don’t plan on having kids anyway”….

Fertility is considered a pretty good marker for a number of other health issues. More accurate on a population level than an individual level, of course infertile people can be very healthy and just because you can have kids doesn’t mean you’re all good. But overall, if fertility is dropping that is a bad sign, probably folks’ endocrine systems are getting messed up by exterior factors (like pesticides).
