Always crying about Dresden but of course the US had no choice but to nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki…

Out of curiosity, do you know if the protesters literally said “shut the fuck up” in English or was it some Danish equivalent? I only ask because I’m endlessly fascinated in how different languages use “fuck” or its equivalents in different contexts.

The border stuff is bipartisan because our precious white suburban votes must be coddled and catered to, everyone else can fuck off.

I don’t think the media narratives on Ukraine in Europe will ever change. The population will just become more and more opposed to it while the neoliberal parties and the media dig their heels in. This will lead to any political parties speaking out against it to gain in popularity, I think.

they will just as soon sacrifice trans people or anyone else the moment it becomes convenient

You can see this right now in both words and actions from Biden and the Dems w/r/t migrants and the border. They were still just as evil, but a decade ago democrats would not have talked about migrants the way Biden is now.

White Americans are getting even more racist and anti-migrant than they were before. And instead of taking a bold stand for what’s right, Democrats are trying to equal and even exceed the racism of the Republicans because they think to do otherwise will cost them votes. Should LGBTQ rights become less popular among certain demographics, why should we believe the Democrats will act any different than they are now with the border?

The catch is, it’s usually presented as “well that was in the past, capitalism is perfectly fine now”. It’s like when libs who are actually familiar with Marx agree with what he says about capitalism, but then say the analysis is no longer relevant since we made capitalism a lot better since then. Or highlighting racism in the past but implying that racism stopped being a problem after 1965, when racism was defeated legislatively (hooray for liberalism!)

It just means “allowing” non-white people to live in Europe. The person who made the meme (and probably Musk, too) would probably deport every non-white person, citizen or not, out of Europe if they could.

the communist party has been hammered for 2 years for its anti-nato position on russia-ukraine and for opposing arms shipments

I strongly suspect this position will end up paying off in the future, if not in the present. There is no possible way for NATO to win this war outside of kicking off WW3. It’s over. Unfortunately for most of Europe, it’s the right that will benefit because they seemingly are the only ones critical of NATO (in countries like Germany I mean).

Hudson seems to have like 50 fucking podcasts and analysis shows

What’s incredible is that Michael Hudson will be 85 in 5 days. He is 100% my old age goals, the man is totally lucid and sharp on every one of those podcasts. I have to imagine a lot of that is it doesn’t seem that he’s ever really retired so his mind stays sharp.

I had the chance to study econ at UMKC and turned it down and I’ve been kicking myself ever since for not doing it.

“Rybar in English” on Telegram is great for Ukraine stuff, they have military updates on Gaza every day as well.

A lot of the same sources as 72T cited but I’ll also add the Naked Capitalism blog.
