They are not getting CLOSE to what they deserve but I get you.

REALLY picked the wrong day to start off my day with the plan to put the phone away and spend more time with the kids…

Do we really not have any Soleimani emojis? If so this is a serious hole in our emoji strategy.

Anyway, may his spirit guide the drones and may he be avenged today.

Seizing a civilian vessel without provocation is a blatant violation of international law, and an act of piracy by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

[Makes jerk off motion…]

This is a good one. I also like the retribution being Iran announcing they have nukes now.

It was like 120 new comments when I clicked, but I was immediately trying to call the last time I checked. It had been a few hours but for a Saturday morning/early afternoon that’s a lot regardless.

I’m only 30 pages in on Losurdo’s Stalin book, but I can already say it’s veeeery good. I’ll have to do a review post when I’m done but I think Hexbears are gonna love this book (we finally got an official English translation a few months ago).

A good reflection of modern warfare twenty years before anyone else really had an idea of what modern warfare would look like.

I genuinely learned something through this. Gendered character selection always seemed off to me but I couldn’t quite articulate why until I read this.

Even if he did cheat some… in the last 20 years it has been incredibly obvious that the strategies employed by Van Riper are precisely how warfare will be waged in the 21st century against the US/NATO and their proxies. Even if he manipulated the rules in ways that weren’t intended to reflect reality… that’s pretty much just ticky tack bullshit. I genuinely think 500 years from now they will talk about how the Millennium Challenge foreshadowed the immediate future of warfare and Van Riper will be the most well known US military leader since MacArthur.

The most valid criticism I have seen (and tbh, I kinda buy it) was that the Millennium Challenge was never intended to be a true test of US strategy. It was just supposed to be propaganda to show Iran just how screwed they’d be in a war with the US. Van Riper upended their plans and ruined the propaganda, so they got pissed at him.

It is hard to overstate just how mad white Americans were right after the verdict was read.

Cold take, but I don’t think the whites were mad that a guilty man walked free, but that a black man “beat” their system.
