I really try to not be sectarian and give CPUSA and others the benefit of the doubt… But those are some shitty ass takes. Especially the Hamas one, like, they could have just said nothing.

I don’t even think DSA has come out and endorsed Biden or condemned Hamas.

Death to “israel” and death to America.

Exposing hypocrisy is always a losing strategy, but it’s doubly so when trying to apply it to Christians and white evangelicals in particular (I know she’s Catholic but I think she’s trying to reach those white evangelicals.

It’s because white evangelicalism - which something like 25% of Americans identify with - can barely be called a “religion”. It’s more like, part of the superstructural glue that holds white settler colonialism together. Actual beliefs don’t matter to them. They just take what they want to be true - and whatever upholds white supremacy - and justify it later. If you can find something in the Bible about it… great. If not, they can still find a way to make their own beliefs into doctrine.

I can only think of games that I liked as much as DE, and for similar reasons. The one I come up with is actually Portal 2. In that while I enjoyed the gameplay, the writing is actually what I think about when I think of that game. Playing those two games really was like going on a fun journey, if that makes sense.

Clare Daly is in the European Parliament though, right? I guess that makes sense though, bourgeois democracy would never allow her a platform where it really matters.

My preference is for the black just because it’s such a clear symbol post-Oct 7. But the red one is my second choice. Honestly I’ll probably be happy with whatever I can get, I’m currently at 2,129 in line.

turtle-pogger

I don’t wear earrings but if I did I would absolutely get those “From the river to the sea” ones.

If I was running Ukraine, I would immediately sue for peace with Russia (the carrot I offer them is closer economic ties and let them hang on to territories officially annexed) and tell the west to get fucked with their debt claims. Anything else is just throwing Ukrainian lives away.

Oooh, thanks for letting me know, I’ll be aware of that for next. The comments all seem pretty reactionary, so that tracks. I’ll remove the link at least, to not give them more clicks.

Those responses are all pretty much what I hear when I say I’m a communist or even just a socialist.

Majority of young Britons think Israel should not exist

A majority of Britain’s young people do not believe Israel should exist, a new UnHerd poll has revealed.

A preliminary finding of an exclusive survey of 1,012 voters about foreign policy, conducted by Focaldata and due to be released tomorrow on UnHerd, found that a striking 54% of 18-24-year-olds agreed with the statement that “the state of Israel should not exist.” Just 21% disagreed.

This finding dovetails with other UnHerd polling on the same issue. In a separate question, young respondents were asked who was more to blame for the war in Gaza. Half blamed the Israeli government, while a quarter answered Hamas. Only 19% responded “all equally”.

Edit: I removed the link because, as Droplet pointed out, UnHerd is a TERF site.
