This. Canada first but let's also support the EU and Mexico and Brazil and all the other places Trump is targeting. Turns out there's a whole world of products - we just need to alter our trade alliances and tastes.

CBC Gem, Crave (owned by Bell), Britbox for shows - Qobuz for music (Fully French owned unlike Deezer which represents itself as French but is 45% owned by an American investment firm that donated to Trump's campaign), and yes the high seas for what you can't get at these places.

It's not a lack of virtue, it's endemic and chronic mental illness that isn't addressed and which is worsened by excessive consumption of toxic social media like Reddit, TikTok etc - you are correct that crowd is likely not on Lemmy.

It's been like this in some online communities since mIRC was popular. mIRC was not user friendly and people had to know how to access it, change servers, use commands. This seemed simple to me back then but most of my friends could not be bothered.

With Meta's slop, TikTok, and Reddit being so easy people rarely step outside those bubbles anymore.

Lush is actually UK owned but they make some of their products here in Canada and have stores here so absolutely :)

Just like Trump is friends with.....oh right.....Putin and Epstein. Wait not the same thing :) "I have the best friends, the most beautiful friends, oh yes...when you hear about my friends you're gonna love it"

Decided to call the mod of the CanSkincare subreddit out for what she is - let's make this place a more open non-AI or bot run space to discuss Canadian skincare

Can this woman go away now? Her 15 minutes were up ages ago. Vote her out so she can go hang with her buddies Pat and Tamara and post racist rants to Truth Social.

Make sure they respect ALL the pronouns. In fact I'd like to see a plaque listing them on the front of the house itself along with a land acknowledgement and giant permanent Pride flag. And a vegan on site cafe.

Thank you so much for your transparency and for encouraging this community. Will be happy to do my part by engaging in meaninful conversation, posting quality content, and will make a donation.

...and to be clear, try to minimize the arguments I find myself in but hey can't promise 99.99 uptime on that one ;)

Technically three since Videotron/Freedom run their own network but the coverage is so limited that you'll be on one of their "Nationwide" partners most of the time outside urban areas which means Rogers or Bell/Telus (they network share in so many areas i always bucket them together even if there are places where they maintain their own networks and they do have separate backhaul but anyway)

If you have moved here from Reddit or elsewhere, congratulations!

This is the new Canadian Skincare community which will serve as a more open and collaborative space to discuss Canadian skincare, skincare for people in Canada, and most importantly not serve as a place to post random pics asking for a diagnosis :)

We also do not use bots, do not allow AI content capture, and do not censure users who participate in communities the mods do not like as long as you show respect to your fellow Lemmings and Canadians.

Welcome!
