That and the rampant anti-feminism the moment anything slightly pro feminist reaches all makes me question this place quite a bit sometimes.

The Nazis were voted into power too. And then destroyed the state from within. Call it what you like, but the parallels are very obvious.
I believe that Putin has pushed and directly and indirectly supported Trump, to weaken the minority world (aka "the West"). This might actually backfire now. A autoritatian regime lead by Trump is much more a wild card than the USA was before, because he doesn't follow a predictable pattern. At least thats how the situation seems to be to me. Maybe I am not seeing the big picture here.
And he's an idiot for doing so. Non the less, if experts who know more about the inner workings say that him firing people had nothing to do with it then I will trust them on it.
I know it makes a nice narrative: Trump blames DAI but is actually the one to blame. But if that narrative doesn't hold up to reality then i think we shouldn't push it forward.
It's bad enoth that he uses the death of humans to scream about his wired anti DAI point. He doesn't need to be responsible for the crash in order to criticise that.
I just want to point out that
Trump announced sweeping personnel changes, including a hiring freeze. But aviation experts said Trump had done little that could have precipitated the crash between a commercial jet from Wichita, Kansas, and a military Black Hawk helicopter. There was simply too little time – less than 10 days after Trump was sworn in – for any of his broadly worded executive orders to have had an effect, experts said.
He is still an asshole, but the firing had, apparently, as much to do with the crash as DAI programms: nothing at all.

I can only repeat what I said before I anther comment. I'm not defending Gates. Of course there are things he should be criticised for. You bring up one example here.
What I am saying is, that you should not judge him on what he did four decades ago, but how he is acting today.
Be thankful for small favours, I guess. Still sucks that this happened, but at least the car and you are OK.
