It kind of make sense in smaller kitchens where you don't have a lot of space to prepare the meal beforehand. Never seen one before this day tough (lids, not small kitchens).

Gothic was one of the games of my youth. I am realy looking forward to the remake, thanka for bringing it up.

Recently I have been playing Valheim with my wife again. After a year of more or less non stop caring for the twins we have finally arrived at the point were we can game again together and it makes for even shorter nights but is such a treat to have that back. We used to game and hike a lot together before the children were there. Looking forward to go on long hikes again too, but for now a shared boat ride into the mistlands will do just fine.

Yeah, that was the one that came to my mind when I read the question.

Oh a side note, I find it interesting how these things spread so wide pre Internet. I'm assuming we live on different continents (I'm in Europe).

Random story time: I stated this urban legend as a fact to a classmate in 2007. He called me out and demanded proof. So I sat down at home (this was before smartphones were common, back in the old) and went to YouTube, to find a video about it. Obviously I never found it, but I did come across videos of rabbits beeing slaughtered in a Mexican food fabric. The person doing it was taking them out of a cage and slaughtered them right in front of the others, so that all the other rabbits could see what was coming. Started a process in my that lewd me to become a vegetarian and eventually a vegan, which I have been for over 10 years now.

Thank a lot. I looked into it and the numbers hold up according to the papers they are taken from.

It doesn't make any difference from a moral point of view for me, but I'd like to point out that the number of land animals killed per day is roughly 225 Million. The other 2.675 Billion are fish and other sea creatures.

Also, these numbers exclude bycatch, so the number is going to be even higher (but it does say "for human consumption", so it makes sense to exclude them).

Yeah, it's a wild concept, I agree with you. Aren't there denominations that think your soul goes into hell for a couple of hundert million years untill your sins are purged (the German word is Fegefeuer, no idea how that translates) and then you go to heaven? That sounds at least a bit more reasonable.

That is a very protestant view of the afterlife. Some Christians share it, some don't.

Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. ...whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me. Matthew 25:41–43 (NIV)

Be kind to others or burn forever. At least thats how I would read this.

Yes, but the message of the new testament has very little to do with the historical figure of jesus and is build around the ideas of Jesus that devolved in the years after his death. For the later church I would agree: The main message is love.
