Same, the world would be a better place if we all wore such lovely attire. It's a work of art!

The marvel movies were prepping us to worship the powerful and trust that they'll save the day maybe? 🧐

I'm half way through season 4, first time watching. Enterprise is one of my favorite shows of all time now, but Malcolm is one of my least favorite characters of any show 😁 I adore everyone else, he was just too angry for too long and the Mako subplot was unbelievable

My favorite memories included working with my dad in a similar way. Miss him a lot, glad he taught me so much and challenged me to develop new skills/strengths. Thanks for helping me remember that πŸ™‚

Buddy of mine has no eyes. Has to get reevaluated every year. Still doesn't have eyes. Probably won't next year, let's check just to be sure

Reasonable. I do disagree with the ACF redirect, but not cloning it. That was a dumb move. Also, could have been an open letter to the community or something, not the quick (seemingly) retaliatory moves

It's like Nestle taking water and selling it for profit. Except, this watering hole was built and maintained by everyone. Now, we all have to do more work to build and maintain, so Nestle can take more water. Matt, the guy who kinda invited everyone to the watering hole, is like "they gotta help maintain this watering hole, obviously!"

That's how I see it exactly. Matt, as one of few people in the world with the voice and reach to do so, is trying to protect and help support the WordPress ecosystem.

Let's not forget to follow the money, obviously WPE and Silver lake are going to do everything in their power to make him, and by association, anything he's a part of, look like the bad guy.

The embedded tooth really does it for me

Bunch of great points, thanks. Funny you mention Linus, I'm pretty sure he's done that a bunch. First thing that comes to mind is the "f*** you Nvidia" on stage πŸ˜‚ in the grand scheme of things I just hope this blows over quickly, takes power away from all the ceos and companies involved. I don't see anyone benefitting from this in the short or long term, especially the users.

I really don't want WordPress to suffer, I feel like it's one of the last pillars standing against a bland sea of identical social media profiles. Given enough time, completely unchecked, I see WP Engine moving heavily towards enshitification like that, and I think Matt wants to avoid that too? πŸ™
