I think there are too many communities. People tried to replicate reddit's diversity and places got spread too thin. When Reddit first started it didn't even have subreddits.

Don't need to imagine it, I know for a fact you nerds are missing out.

I can't tell if you're saying Wayland + Nvidia is da bomb, or Wayland + Nvidia will fuck your system up.

This isn't looking a gift horse in the mouth. That would be asking her how long the blowjob is going to be or something like that. Have a read about martyr complexes. It sounds more intense than it is, but that's probably closer to this situation. Basically just sacrificing your own wants for others.

It gets frustrating when you assume other people's wants and don't listen to what they're telling you. Maybe you've been brought up to not be forthcoming with your desires, and you think she's being polite when she refuses? It's a hard thing to overcome because people genuinely do refuse things they want, out of politeness. Maybe you could think of a codeword between yourselves, that indicates you're being completely truthful and not telling a white lie or anything. But don't overuse the codeword!

Realistic advice, I like it. Makes me think of the ridiculous sort of advice you see on Reddit that nobody would ever say. "John, I respect you as a friend but your attitude towards women is misogynistic and unacceptable. I know you are better than this and you can improve your behaviour". Fucking nerds roleplaying on the internet.

I had a friend who kept saying f****t. I don't think he had anything against gays, he just carried on with the early 2000s usage of the word. I would say "Oi! No F bombs!" And he'd apologise. After a couple I'd just say "oi". It worked eventually, no need for a big intervention or a serious sitdown. Just "Oi".

I've noticed the same goes for movies. There's plenty of funny films with comedy as the second genre, but never as the purpose of the film. Think of Superbad, Dumb & Dumber, Police Academy. The main purpose was to laugh! But now it's always romcoms, dramedies, or wise cracking superheroes.

Maybe it's tiktok. Maybe it's because everything is a sequel/rehash these days. I just want another Leslie Nielsen film!

Don't get me wrong, I love the so-bad-its-good stuff. Troll 2 is one of my favourite films. Mario just did not do it for me

I've watched every single Steven Seagal film so I feel I'm a pretty good authority here. The worst film of all time is Super Mario Bros (1993)

I can talk about Tommy Wiseau and Neil Breen all day, but these are lunatics funding their own crazy films. Mario bros is something else.

It had the actors. It had the funding. It had the IP. They missed the mark so badly they ruined video game-based films for over a decade. Just look at the goombas. I seriously felt depressed for hours after watching this film.

To be fair, somebody from a developing nation could say the same about us and spending £500 on a new phone that does the same shit as the old phone
