I remember a lot of effort being put into teaching us to stop, drop and roll if we were ever on fire. Kinda thought that knowledge would have been put to the test by now, but I haven't even been on fire once!

People over here are starting to get the perfect bright white teeth that America popularised now. I hate it, looks so fake. We derisively call it "Turkey teeth" because they often fly to Turkey to get it done on the cheap.
I've argued with litterers before and it goes along the lines of "it's already messy, everyone's doing it". Same sort of excuses you get from cheaters and such. I don't mean to go all edgy Joker but there's probably things you and I do that are a problem but we don't see it because everyone else does it too. Eating meat and emitting tons of co2 for example.

Sometimes late at night I squint my eyes to look at the icon and, for a fleeting moment, I can see two penguins.
One time I heard a colleague called the settings/gear icon in Windows a flower. I've also heard somebody refer to the PuTTY icon as "the two penguins"
I remember reading something from Sid Meier about odds in Civilization, saying that odds need to be faked in games. If you make it fair, people will accuse it of being fixed. You need to cheat in the player's favour. It's done this way in games like XCOM too.
