"consumer-grade"

Yeah, that's the point. Again, the average user (as in desktop user) gains nothing from using a different init. There may have been some crazy server-side scenario where the type of init you used actually mattered but we're talking about desktop Linux, which the answer is a clear-cut no. I'm not stopping the people that are interested in trying a different init out, I'm just telling them that there's little to no benefit in the end if they're expecting an improvement in performance or whatever else.

Enlightenment is such an underrated desktop but development for it is very slow moving. Only a few people work on it and most likely in their spare time but for what it does and how little resources it pulls makes it very impressive. It's pretty much a fully featured desktop and only takes a little over 100mb

Back when systemd was a hot topic I jumped on the bandwagon of using systemd-less distros just because people were telling me how bad it was. To this day I still use openrc but the reality is that systemd works very well and is easy to understand and use. The average user gains no benefit to using another init besides having a better understanding of how the system works.

I browse on lemmy now but I still use my reddit account for a few subs like r/crtgaming and r/toonami

I load this up on my ST all the time but I have to turn the music off. All paradox developed games have annoying music that loops every 10 seconds and it drives me mad after only a minute of playing. One cool thing about the ST version is that it takes advantage of the MIDI ports so you can plug in a MIDI synthesizer and the music will output though that, but again, It's the same annoying tune.

Every company but Nintendo, I do not trust Nintendo. I can imagine them going after people who make flashcarts like krizz and charging AAA prices for games like chrono trigger and earthbound just to cash in on the insane prices you see on eBay.

I preordered this. it's just a 7800 emulation box but the fact it accepts original cartridges and is authentic to the 2600 is cool. I think the price is fair, They're trying to make a profit and they will most likely reprint a large portion of the library to make more money, The idea of Atari re-releasing some rare 7800 games is pretty exciting and I hope they do it. Not a big fan of modern Atari but this is a good move and I hope they will give their computers the same treatment.

How is this Web3 scam still a thing? I thought I would finally stop hearing it after the crash but it just keeps coming back. The only people who will get rich from this are the scammers themselves.

Okay, That's great news. That was my only complaint besides the shitposting but that can be ignored
