What sub were you moderating?

Something big like r/videos or something small like r/Iputdoritoesinmyshoes?

I'm pretty sure the sitewide admins have a bot that detects ban evasion. The mods share the message with you, it's the same message on every sub.

A year ago, I was banned from r/politics after accruing about 450k karma from that sub alone.

I had a temporary ban of 3 days for some choice words I shared with a Trumpist.

A couple of days after the ban ended, I got perma-banned for violating the previous ban, which I didn't think I did. When I asked the mod team, they responded that reddit AI or a bot had detected it. They gave me a link that said the bot does detections but is not 100% perfect. I asked for evidence. They refused because they didn't want to reveal how the bot worked. They told me I could contact reddit admin instead. Reddit admin responded that I could contact the mod team for that sub... That was some Kafka-esque shit.

In any event, the perma-ban came with the threat that I would face a sitewide ban if I tried to evade the ban. The mods can't do that, but reddit admin can.

I assume they are looking for other accounts with the same IP address to detect ban evasions.

The media has declared reddit the winner multiple times since the protest started.

Fuck the media. There are still 1800+ restricted subreddits.

https://reddark.untone.uk

Who won? Anybody who realized that reddit was commodifying your posts, comments, and contributions and left that shitshack.

Did Amazon always own Good Reads? Or did they acquire it?

@readbeanicecream

The Stumbleupon devs were pioneers of what's happening to social media now.

We're not making money. Should we add advertising? Nope Should we require a subscription fee? Nope.

The problem is all these people using CSS to curate their finds on the web. This is NOT a blog (even though there was a button that said 'stumbleblog it').

Ohhh noooo, this is about the stumble button and nothing else (the button I no longer used much because other people's content was a faster way to find cool shit).

Now, we're going to wipe all of your work out and make this about THE BUTTON.

Every curator on the site bails, leaving only the turnips trying to use Stumble for SEO wank.

And that's how you destroy a good thing. I love how they're out there still trying to make their version work.

Hmm, let's see. Things'll get better if we change the name to Mix. We'll get lots more people to try our crap.

3 people show up.

I'm still mad about that. If they had asked me to pay for a subscription, I would have.

smh

She deserves a shot at the White House. I'm not interested in arguments about how she needs more experience or other reasons to put it it off. Obviously not to compete with Biden. But she is my post Biden top choice.

In the US, we colloquially 'go to college'. College refers to higher education in general.

Then, in more academic terms, A university is a larger place of higher ed made up of schools and colleges. You also have liberal arts colleges that do not have these colleges/schools. We also have two-year community colleges that may be more similar to vocational schools or FE colleges in the UK.

Then we get to the level of fun: Boston College is actually a university. :-)

Source: I lived overseas and told people I attended _____ College, which caused them to cross-examine me about whether I have a 4-year degree because in their country people go to university/uni and college is something else. Different places, different terminology.

Guild Wars 1

Having a character of one main class and a secondary class that could be switched at any time between any of the 9 classes.

8-slot skillbar with one heroic skill that could only come from your main class.

400+ total skills in the game.

Plenty of room for you to make your own homebrew builds, and some classic builds that were outside the box:

The assassin that used a staff (assacaster), the ranger that used necro skills to touch people to death (touch ranger), and the 55 monk, which had almost no hp but so much healing it was hard to kill.

It will always be my MMORPG because of the character design.
