They did plenty yeah, how does that make the bad things the UK government did ok?

Also, Jeremy Corbyn chose to be neutral over brexit in the 2019 referendum.

Fair enough, I disagree with him on that as well. There again the society I would like would be a bit incompatible with the EU as it is right now, maybe I'm just more radical than I was in 2016.

Worked for Boris.

Yeah, but if there's one thing Nige knows… it's which way the wind is blowing.

Let's hope Jezza comes out against this ridiculous law.

That's just not true, he did he just included all groups and refused to single them out, which is quite right imo.

Yeah, they were terrorists but they didn't come to exist in a vacuum and our government was also responsible for some decidedly shady shit.

In my estimation the IRA were worse, but this is still one of those emotive topics that can be exploited by the media to paint it to suit their agenda, and as we know their agenda is to protect capital. People always lose their shit about the IRA, and I understand, I've been alive long enough to remember the troubles but it does in fact take 2 to tango.

Yep, and now he's painted himself into a stupid corner with it.

Well done Kid Starver.

Wonder how many non parents want this?

Funny how we are never ever considered worth of asking.

Is there any need for this, really?

Just today government borrowing went up just because the growth forecast was a little worse then expected. If the government is suddenly on the hook for tens of billions in water infrastructure investment at the same time they are seen as anti-business and willing to rug-pull private investment, you bet foreign governments will sell their investments in the UK.

We don't need 'foreign investment', it's nothing but a euphemism for allowing foreigners to own our shit. Doesn't matter if it's government debt or houses, it causes inflation and it's just selling our futures.

Fuck foreign investment, might as well just print it ourselves or just take it from those that already have far too much.

Enough of letting finance spivs dictate how shit goes in my opinion.

If we let them win, we lose, if we fight them they will mess with 'the market' and generate as much FUD as they can but it's the only weapon they have and we need to take it off them, one way or another.

Step 5, Watch the collapse of virtually all private pensions in the UK as their value drops due to heavy investment in various water companies.

Overstated I would say, pensions are heavily diversified.

Step 6, Watch the gilt markets collapse as the UK government is seen as reckless and anti business as it removes assets from private investors.

If the government continues paying interest on the bonds, why would the markets collapse?

I do love the picture they chose for her.

[–] G4Z@feddit.uk 1 points 2 weeks ago

Well of course they do. She’s too left wing for Keir’s right wing party.

She's not that left in my view, maybe I just missed it but I've never seen her advocating for actual important left wing issues.

So I asked copilot, which issues does diane abbot advocate for, and it's basically just social justice stuff. Which is important, don't get me wrong but the biggest social justice issue is wealth inequality and class which she barely talks about.

I don't see any evidence that she's advocated for some other system but neo liberal capitalism, just friendlier to women and minorities.

Even then she's managed to put her foot in it over and over as well as outright racist comments that she's made.

So to be honest, as a leftie, I hope they keep her and any left wing alternative stays away. She's nothing but a liability and in all honesty she needs to just retire and fuck off. She's 71, she's too old, got no ideas and when you get down to it. she's racist herself.

Let Labour keep her, please.
