Hey what's up, I got my friend to play some video games with me which I hadn't done in a while. It's surprising how much more fun it is to do something with other people as opposed to going alone.

Hawaii is currently a point of struggle over indigenous rights and land. This video talks about the Mauna Kea observatory controversy but there are other issues, so it's particularly relevant.

Great comment, you're right, the discussion does have value for future communists.

Foreign policy is not democratized. The range of acceptable discourse inside imperialist countries never spans past the point where you turn around and actually oppose imperialism, the opposition actually lands so far away that any speech against empire is thoroughly delegitimized and often holds negative power to change the reality of imperialism, because by holding that position you become the boogeyman for the moderates to rally against. Not that we shouldn't be anti-imperialists, but thinking that you will just change reality by having the correct ideas, with no concrete plan as to how you'll enact those ideas into material reality is ahistorical and antimaterialist. Note that when it comes to organizing in favor of Palestine the situation is entirely different because we do have things we can do to improve the situation for Palestinians, but the same can't be said for Russia and Ukraine, or anything related to China. The only thing you have to offer is discourse, which the ruling class has the power to invert in their favor. No amount of 500 follower hammer and sickle accounts on Twitter dunking on White House press releases is going to stop aid to Ukraine, you're probably getting Twitter to get even more reactionary if anything.

So that ties back into my point, we have no organization broad enough or strong enough to actually change reality w.r.t. foreign policy, especially towards the main enemies of empire. We're just a part of the culture, part of the superstructure that maintains the base but has little power to materially change it until we can have enough workers willing to withhold their labor politically conscious and organized. Once we're at that point then those questions do become important and we have a broader international left to fit into.

A rant that was meant for the boys' groupchat delivered to confused churchgoers.

Ah, now it makes sense. Reading talking points off a paper isn't that bad but those other gaffes are just the cherry on top of the sundowning pie.

Your calculus is so simple you completely forgot to account for the rate of change.

We must focus on defeating Trump and put aside any pretense of wielding power, so we can do the same thing again in 2024, 2028, 2032...

Spitballing but there's no reason not to just use hydrogen right? Can get that cheap from China if they don't already have some from desalination, but I can't get any data on whether they have desalination plants (they probably do though, right?)

There's a distinct lack of slave ships and colonialism for it to be that.

Wait, where's the gaffe? Is he not just reading quotes that he disagrees with?

I was dunking on a recruiter from a PMC earlier, he shared a promo for a ghoul activity and I posted an article about the Israeli strike on a Doctors Without Borders hospital today in response. It's in a big group chat with some people I know but mostly strangers. A guy I know (who is otherwise cool and has good politics) made a pretty tasteless joke, and another dude who I don't know told him 'kys.' Now, this stranger is someone who has the right intentions and he'd previously commented in support of Palestine and whatnot, so I'm honestly more on his side than my own friend's. However, I really wanted to stop a friendly fire struggle session from starting because I think it's most important to call out the actual ghouls, not leftists who make bad jokes or use off color humor.

I stepped in and said I agreed that it was definitely not the right time and we have no right, as privileged westerners, to make jokes about genocide as if it's "gallows humor" when we aren't even the ones on the gallows. But I still called the stranger out on going on the offensive on the wrong person. It kinda just aggravated the dude further and it feels like I did something really counterproductive. On the other hand, I did feel frustrated when this dude could easily have jumped on the recruiter guy with that energy instead of an irrelevant bystander. Doesn't help that it attracted attention from some redditoids who started taunting the guy and getting more reactions out of him.

Feel like maybe I was biased and shouldn't have defended my friend when his joke made light of an active genocide and made someone uncomfortable. For the record, he just made a bad pun about Doctors without Borders, he didn't say anything reactionary. Still wildly uncalled for.

niko-concern Maybe I'm overthinking.

I get a lot from Mulholland Drive, especially when the betrayal starts happening in the third act. I also got the feeling watching Past Lives and Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Deleted my reddit account some years ago, now I really wanted to ask a question in /r/pathofexile2 but it looks like they hide posts from low karma accounts. Can someone repost this for me? thx

Those guys that killed MLK and smuggled crack into the hood warn about Chinese cyber crime.

Those guys that killed MLK and smuggled crack into the hood report rise in black-on-white crime.

Those guys that killed MLK and smuggled crack into the hood deny killing MLK and smuggling crack into the hood.

And how would you describe your political tendencies? I have a theory that more MLs are gonna be into static typing and more anarchists are gonna be into dynamic typing.

Arr, me buccaneer!
