They grew too quick. I just checked and they aren’t even using Cloudflare for caching/ddos protection etc… That seems insane for a large instance as it only takes a few minutes to setup.

Exactly. Lemmy is a reddit style fediverse vs a twitter one. Apparently you can also use Lemmy via mastodon somehow which is cool!

Yep, there are hundreds of servers linked together in what is called the fediverse. I’m posting this comment from a server I setup today. It’s a pretty cool concept.

I did the same today but with the admin account password for a whole Lemmy server. In the end I had to configure an email server for it so I could use the lost password link to reset it. This is the second time I forgot to press save in my password manager after generating a password and just closing the tab.

It’s a weird lost password system. Go to the login page, enter your email leaving the password blank and then press the lost password button.
