Now I'm interested in how lobotomized people self-describe their experience. That is, the ones that didn't die from surgery complications or suicide, or severe removedation.
Edit: Apparently, most orbital lobotomies in the US were done by a single huckster named Walter Freeman. An orbital lobotomy is when they shove an ice pick through each eye hole. Apparently, Freeman was a showman (freak) and sometimes did both ice picks at the same time with two hands. In front of an audience.
Edit 2: One last thing. Apparently the Soviet Union banned lobotomies before the US and Europe did. Big W. The abstract said something about the soviets "persecuting Jewish psychiatrists" but it doesn't explain what that means and I don't have access to the paper.
Also Louisiana calls them Parishes and Alaska calls them Boroughs.
