Edit: I also think it flowed better when "I miss you. I hope I’ll see you again someday, or at least, that I might hear your name spoken in the present tense." was at the beginning of the second paragraph. It's a poignant ending for sure, but I like it better as a transition to you talking about how you feel.

The rest seems good to me. But have you ever explained yourself regarding the incident where you parted ways? I feel like saying "I only said those things to X because they provoked me [and I didn't mean it] or [and I'm sorry]" could go a long way if you haven't said it before. Of course, only say that if you want to.
