How recently was it added to your GoG library? It's not uncommon for new games to not show up for awhile if GoG is having any server issues.

If the game isn't a recent addition to your library, and relogging into GoG doesn't fix it, you might try Junk Store and see if it shows the game.

Cool, thanks for sharing. I was wondering how you switched the arcade controls without swapping cables, unfortunate to hear it's a pain. I've been wanting to do a virtual pinball build for awhile now, and I really like the idea of having the device be useable without my deck docked to it. I'll probably see if I can figure out a good way to swap devices, maybe try using a usb switch and hdmi switch to swap inputs/display.

No reason to be a dick. You could have rephrased most of this and had it be a beneficial suggestion, but instead it just comes across as you being mean. Looking over you comment history, it looks like most of your comments are that way. You almost are never helpful, just lashing out at people for doing something wrong or asking for help instead of figuring things out themselves. No one is going to take advice from you like this, you're just pissing people off and wasting your own time in the process.

Oh that's super cool. I see you have a raspberry pi inside, do you use that just for retro games, and then swap over to a docked Steam Deck for more demanding games? How do you handle swapping?

I've been typing a lot of phone notes and taking a lot of screenshots.

I wish there was a good way to edit my steam notes for a game from the steam mobile app.

Yes, that's right.

What I was mostly referring to was

posts bumped threads to the top

The controversial threads get more posts, so usually they get bumped to the top over and over until the hit the post cap. Being on top also attracts more posts, but seemingly the easiest way to get a newly created thread to succeed and attract posts is by posting something controversial first.

For example if I wanted to talk about Morrowind, and I think that overall most users there like Morrowind, I'd be more likely to have a successful thread/discussion by making a first post that was something like "I can't believe I fell for the meme that this was actually a good game". I'll get more intial responses of people disagreeing with me, and that will help the thread get started. After that the discussion can move on to other things about the game.

There used to be a dozen sites like 4chan. I don't know if any of them are still around, but I'm willing to bet that if 4chan doesn't come back there will be a new website that takes its place.

4chan is a pretty unique experience. Most of the internet is forming into echo chambers, where having a different opinion than the "correct" opinion for that community will get you downvoted or banned. My understanding with 4chan is that post popularity is determined by replies, and frequently controversial opinions/etc get the most replies. So posting stuff that most people will agree will result in a less popular thread than posting something controversial, offensive, or wrong.

I think this leads to a lot of the negative things you've heard about 4chan, but encouraging disagreements between its members keeps it from becoming a full echo chamber like a lot of social media. They still have some dominant community opinions, but those opinions can't really smother all the other opinions like on most sites.

To be clear, 4chan is a cesspool. But for all it's flaws it does offer something unique that's largely missing on other websites.

Just to make sure I understand, you're saying there's a difference between the zen console versions of the table and the fx3 pinball version?

[–] Fubarberry@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Hope you enjoy it! Fantical has it for about $5 off if you want a bit of a discount.

The experience did steadily grow on me the more I played, so don't expect to be blown away on your first couple tries.

SteamDeckHQ did a first impressions, and they're getting a pretty consistent 30fps (higher fps possible inside, but outside can't go much higher than 30. They mentioned a few fps dips near crowds but that's it.

It sounds like you've got a bad setting somewhere or something else going on, assuming their account is accurate.

For safety sake I'm going to wait to read the second half of your comment until I understand what the

As for the wrench, every time I've gotten it, it was

Yeah, I've only seen

spoilerthe book store once. I desperately tried to get it again on a run where I had 50% off and 60 gold, but couldn't get it to spawn. Several of the boiler room ones took a long time too, although I had a good run with a wrench that helped my boiler spawn rate a lot.

This is a guide and shell script to run steam through gamescope on a non-logged in Linux system.

Basically you can remotely connect to your Linux system through ssh, start steam without a desktop environment, and the games will run that way only accessible to the remote streaming devices (ie steam deck, steam link, or other paired steam client).

If the majority of a users playtime at the time of review was from playing on Deck, the review will have a Deck icon next to it.

The game in the screenshot is SAND LAND. You can view the reviews here to easily see some examples of this new icon.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to filter reviews to show Deck reviews only.

This article does a good job of talking about how poor the windows experience on a handheld is, and why SteamOS could dominate handheld devices if windows doesn't start to make serious changes to improve it's useability and performance.

To be clear, I don't want to see windows succeed here, I would absolutely love to see SteamOS take over the handheld space and be a real linux ambassador to show people that they do have other choices than windows for their computers.

This seems kinda silly, but I remember someone here was asking this exact product awhile back.

To be clear, this is for just the pillow and mounting arm, which can be used with various devices. For the steam deck specific mount, you'll also need this, or their full steam deck bundle.

Alternatively if you have access to a 3D printer, they provide most of their designs here.

To be clear, while the article says this is "official support", this is only drivers provided by valve.

Per valve:

We are providing these resources as is and are unfortunately unable to offer 'Windows on Deck' support.

Bluetooth

  • Fixed a 3.6 regression with the Steam Controller and some other third-party controllers causing session crashes.
  • Fixed an issue where Bluetooth peripherals would disconnect on session switch.

Display

  • Fixed an issue where the internal display could remain blank after disconnecting an external display.
  • Fixed a 3.6 regression where the selected refresh rate setting would sometimes not apply immediately.

These are some good fixes, I've run into some of these issues.

NonSteamLaunchers is a tool to let you easily install launchers for different game platforms, as well as installing their games properly where they can be launched directly through steam.

Supported launchers:

  • Amazon Games Launcher ✔️
  • Battle.net ✔️
  • EA App ✔️
  • Epic Games ✔️
  • GOG Galaxy ✔️
  • Humble Games Collection ✔️
  • IndieGala ✔️
  • Itch.io ✔️
  • Legacy Games ✔️
  • Rockstar Games Launcher ✔️
  • Ubisoft Connect ✔️
  • Glyph ✔️
  • Minecraft ✔️
  • Playstation Plus ✔️
  • VK Play ✔️

It also supports making web apps for the following:

  • Website Shortcut Creator ✔️
  • Xbox Game Pass ✔️
  • GeForce Now ✔️
  • Amazon Luna ✔️
  • Netflix ✔️
  • Amazon Prime Video ✔️
  • Disney+ ✔️
  • Hulu ✔️
  • Youtube ✔️
  • Twitch ✔️
  • movie-web ✔️

There are better options for some of these game launchers, things like Heroic and Junk store would be better options for Epic for example. However this tool supports a ton of platforms, and is very possibly the easiest way to play games from a lot of these platforms on Deck.

Recent patch notes sounded like they might be hinting at upcoming ROG Ally support, but it's now confirmed.

Shadows of Doubt is amazing, but hasn't run very well on the deck. Inside areas run great, but travelling outside between buildings has had pretty severe fps drops even though the deck's hardware isn't being maxed out.

However this new experimental patch helps a lot. The deck power consumption jumps up a lot when outside, but the fps manages to mostly hold 30fps now which is a huge improvement. The recent patches have also brought a lot of controller support improvements, making it a viable way to play the game.

Android games are normally going to be inferior to Steam games, but this is still a nice option for games that aren't available on Steam or can't be played due to anti-cheat reasons.

You can read more about Waydroid here. There are reasons to believe valve is working on adding official Waydroid support to Deck, but until then you can install it this way.
