I know this gitlab project sets some downloading/temp folders to have COW disabled, possibly for this very reason.

There's also the fact that the Rog Ally mainly gets higher performance by just dumping more electricity into the APU. It doesn't really help that much that the Ally can perform better if it has to give up it's portability to do so. The deck having such better power efficiency with low power games is more valuable to me than the Ally being able to drain it's battery super quick to place a poorly optimized game at mediocre quality.

Nope, still chugging along. I've been pretty happy with them for game news over the years.

Current ergonomics are pretty good in my experience, but I do have larger hands. How would you like to see them changed?

You can sorta already use the deck as a controller iirc. You can stream a game to your deck and still have it display on your PC. Just turn your deck screen brightness down and play.

The motherboard alone supposedly costs Valve somewhere around $270, so even with them selling the hardware at a loss I don't think there's any chance of getting a set top box for $100.

I've tried both of those, tree style tabs kinda works, but isn't ideal. It's also not an option on mobile at all, and I prefer to use the same browser for mobile and desktop for tab sync/etc.

I used Firefox on desktop and mobile for a few months this past year, but never got as nice of a work flow going as I had with Brave. Then a Firefox update for mobile broke the browser for a week or two (crashed on launch, resetting app data/reinstalling didn't help) and I went back to Brave, and realized how much I missed tab grouping and some other stuff.

I'm keeping Firefox installed, and I'd be happy to switch back someday if tab grouping gets ported over.

People don't like the creator of Brave because he's supposedly anti-trans. He donated to some anti-trans political group iirc.

The browser also has some crypto stuff (web advertisment replacement, block chain based decentralized browser sync), and a lot of people hate crypto these days.

Personally I think it's a good browser, the web needs advertising revenue to function and it's solution to replacing web ads with optional browser ads that still pay the websites you visit seems like a decent solution. I respect the push to use a non-chromium browser, but personally I rely too much on browser tab groups to use anything Firefox based.

Yeah, my kids love this song.

I'll take it over most of the songs that are popular with younger kids for sure.

The HDMI issue seems to be fixed in the main update channel, although there's an equally annoying bug where home/overlay menus stop working while you have bluetooth controllers connected.

Glad you found a good work around though.

Thanks for making stuff like this, I only use 1 SD card personally, but I could see this being really handy for people.

It's a great device, I don't think you'll regret going ahead and getting it.
