Honestly Arch (and the more pure Arch derivatives like Endeavour) is fantastic as long as things don't break, and I've never had anything break that wasn't more complicated than updating my mirror list or forcibly uninstalling a conflicting package. There's always the potential for something more serious to go wrong, but having the Arch wiki is such a fantastic resource.
Honestly it mainly just annoys me that workarounds like this are required.
I recently had to set up a Windows 11 pc in S mode, and they needed S mode disabled to install Quickbooks. S mode could only be disabled through the Microsoft Store, and it wouldn't let me access the Microsoft Store at all without creating a Microsoft account. Eventually I managed to disable S mode by booting recovery media, and making registry edits from the command line there.
Now that the machine is out of S mode, it lets me access the Microsoft store without an account for free apps. But from inside S mode (which many PCs ship with) it would not let me access the store at all without an account. It's also worth mentioning that you have to intentionally avoid connecting the computer to the internet during the initial set up, or it will require you to create a Microsoft account to use the PC at all.
Yeah, I fully agree. The goal of most websites is to get linked by Google, the argument that Google should then have to pay for giving the websites what they want anyways is weird.
I also don't feel like the argument that it's ok just because it targets wealthy companies changes whether the actual law makes sense or not.
Regular joycons function as 1 controller. Previously there wasn't a way to split them and use them as separate controllers, but I'm not sure if that's changed or not in the last year.
I've never tried 3rd-party joycons with my deck, I have a set of Kinvoca ones that I can try pairing later tonight and see if they work.
According to steam user reports, SteamOS makes up around 0.5% of Steam Users. So having them represent 5% of sales is impressive.

I think this needs to be marked NSFW with Uranus like that.
So far the only thing I've picked up is Xenotilt, and it's pretty fun. I'm tempted to get Diablo 4 (my friends have been playing it and they tell me the new season is a lot better than the last one), but I hate the always online requirement and how they've implemented it.
Yes, but once the game files are downloaded you can run the game without opening steam or copy the game folder to other machines.
For example I copied my Caves of Qud install onto a thumb drive, and that lets me play at work.
Yeah, a lot of this stuff is pretty obvious.
This kind of article is good for general people to see though, because a lot of people who haven't used the deck assume higher resolution screen is better and windows will be better than Linux.
Thanks for sharing, I haven't picked up Lethal Company yet but I know some other games like Shadow of Doubt use the same mod loader and I bet this will work great for them.
