Every man has two fantasies: to die in a fierce battle against overwhelming odds where you make them bleed for every inch, and to dig a giant hole in the beach.

Are you on stable or a different version of SteamOS? I know I was having similar issues on a past build of SteamOS, but I haven't noticed anything like that lately on the beta channel.

Yeah, or get downvoted heavily. This was a big issue on Reddit as well, but I hoped the smaller Lemmy community would be able to handle things better.

This is the kind of community that really needs the downvoted button disabled to work I think.

Thanks, that's the answer I was looking for. Quite unfortunate, but maybe it will get better.

Oh that's cool, I hadn't heard of that project before.

I've played Ocarina of Time, but never played through Majora's Mask. I'm really interested to try that when they come out with support for it.

Steam Deck - since having kids I was really struggling to play games at all. I had gotten to where I was only playing phone games and switch games, but the Steam Deck has really enabled me to start enjoying my steam library again. If it broke I would buy another one instantly.

Bone-conductive headphones - I wear these all day. I listen to audiobooks, take calls, have them read out notifications, etc. It's also great to know that if I open a random meme video on my phone, I don't have to worry about the sounds of the video being inappropriate for my surroundings. They're so much more comfortable than traditional headphones.

My house - I got an insanely good deal on my house, less than what many people pay for cars. It's not the fanciest house, and it needed some fixing up when we bought it, but it's enabled me and my family to live with extremely low bills which has made my life very low stress. Houses are generally cheap where I live, but I lucked out and got the best house deal I've seen, and it's made everything so much easier.

“Nigeria has become the second deadliest Genocide-Country in the world accounting for more than 150,000 religiously motivated defenseless civilian deaths since 2009,” the report states.

It says about 100,000 Christians were among the 150,000 killed while moderate Muslims accounted for about 46,000, and members of other religions accounted for the remaining 4,000 defenseless civilian deaths.

That's pretty awful, I'm surprised I haven't heard more about it.

Sure, and if you want to share "I'm still playing x game" that's fine too.

It is interesting to hear a lot of people talk about new games they've picked up though, it gives a view into what people are successfully playing on the deck and what's popular. It's also a great way to hear about how well new games run, and if there are any problems with them.

People don't like frequently dual-booting or switching operating systems. If someone needs a specific program for work, and that program only works on windows, chances are they will only use windows.

Many people have to use proprietary software at work, which means most computers for work have to run windows. If linux can get enough marketshare to get support for the necessary programs that people have to use, that will free them up to not use windows at all.

There's a difference, in my opinion, between designing a weapon and just being a generic worker at the company.

As a generic worker, the end result isn't any different whether it was you or someone else. For example, I don't think a guy who works at a Tesla factory could be considered responsible if the self driving malfunctions and kills someone. He might have directly contributed to the car that got built, but if he didn't work that job the car would have still been made and the tragedy would still have happened.
