Yeah, the older I get the more I appreciate solutions like this.

I often fall into a trap where I try to play through most of the side content before finishing the story, but I'll burn out on the game while playing the side content leaving the main story unfinished.

I've started to do a game rotation where I'll put down a game when I start to get burnt out on it, and then come back later. But with Elden Ring I'm intimidated about going back because I was stuck in a frustrating part when I stopped, and with Cyberpunk I get suckered into exploring the city and enjoying the vibes of the atmosphere instead of actually progressing anything.

That's the wrong mentally for team games. You're supposed to be the reason your team loses, and then do elaborate mental gymnastics to explain how it was actually another player's fault.

I don't check the Deck subreddit very often since I left over the API charges, but the last time I did the subreddit was up in arms over moderation issues. Main complaint at the time looked to be that the mods weren't removing posts that were unrelated to the deck, so it's weird to now hear that they're removing stuff that is deck related.

Rip, I'm sorry for your loss.

Correct, just the transparent case limited edition ones.

I've long heard arguments in favor of laser printers, but after finding out that every laser printer is printing yellow tracking dots on every page it prints, it's made me question if I actually want one. I haven't been able to find any confirmation that inkjet printers have tracking dots. It's very possible some do, but in comparison it sounds like every laser printer does.

I currently have an Epson ecotank, to refill it I just pour ink in from a bottle. The ink is super cheap (at least compared to regular inkjets, and there's no way for them to restrict what brand of liquid ink I use. Honestly it's a very decent printing experience, and I'm not sure I'd be better off with a Brother Laser.

Oh cool, thanks for making power tools! This update looks really nice too!

I always have it installed, but don't usually mess with it unless someone tells me a specific setting needs to be changed (like how SMT used to need to be disabled for emulators, or some games that have performance issues unless the CPU frequency is manually capped). Letting people share profiles for games sounds like a great way to let even less technical users benefit from power tools.

I'd recommend DNS66 from f-droid, uses the phone's VPN support to block ad DNS requests. It will filter ads and trackers from all apps on the phone.

I misread this as

60 Percent Of Playtime In 2023 Went To 6-Year-Old Or Older Gamers

and I was really alarmed that 40% of all playtime was from 5-year-olds and younger.

Pretty rough, from what I understand:

  • Promised jobs in Germany
  • sent to Bangkok instead
  • Taken to Belarus
  • Taken across border into Russia, kept at camps.

Once in Russia, they were told to join the Russian Army. To motivate them, they were:

  • Offered Russian work visas, brides, and passports
  • Denied food and water when they refused.
  • Burned with heated wood and matchsticks, cut with knives, and other torture methods
  • Threated with knives and guns
  • Finally arrested for illegally entering the Russia.

I've heard other reports of people from India getting forced into fighting for Russia after fraudulent job offers, so it seems like this is becoming fairly widespread.

Yeah, that's the scariest part. This was caught, but are there other projects out there that have been attacked with similar methods that no one knows about?
