Birth centers are incredibly common now. And home births are preferred among certain people, like anti-vaxers and sovereign citizens

That's one of the things Gloria Steinem mused about in 1978

"If Men Could Menstruate"

Omg, look how much she's filled out! I think I've missed a few of your posts, Sandy looks so healthy and happy!

Seriously, he does not have a single clue what he's marching the US into. That's going to be incredibly messy at best

It took until this year for doctors in the US to start giving a numbing agent for IUD insertion, so I think the medical industry as a whole underestimates the amount of pain people with uteruses feel

Yes, but most insurance doesn't cover it if there's no medical issue with the uterus or high risk of cancer. I spent two years trying to get mine removed, and even with a medical history of excessive pain and very long and unpredictable periods I can't get it removed. For that problem they usually suppress cycles with progesterones.

They offered to take out one ovary when I was still considering medical transition 😭 I'm having pain and bleeding again with an implant that supplies progestin, and they still won't remove my uterus lol

Appreciate the writeup, I hope it helps someone.

I do have a meaningful life, I just move to different cities and states often. In less than a year I'll be on a different continent, and I'll likely be moving after three years again

I have two friends who recently graduated with electrical engineering degrees, and they can't find work where they live. If you're able to apply across the country and move, that may give you better results, but they are both now looking for jobs outside of their degree focus. One is actually doing IT for the university he earned his EE BS from, but there's no opportunity for growth there because it's an incredibly tiny school and community.

It's been over a decade since I worked in tech, but experience was king. I'm earning a degree in biology now, because by the time I left Microsoft I knew how easy it would be to automate my job

As a fellow flat-footed human that prefers putting weight on one foot, you might need to get over-protonation insoles. I've found they really force me to put weight on both feet and they do protect your ankles as well. I have been happy with PowerStep Maxx in the past, but it's been a couple years since I purchased new ones.

I've also been told by a podiatrist to get Hoka shoes, but that's outside my price range lol

He's a convert himself, and she supported him in that conversion in the first place.

Remember when she was so sure they'd win the presidency that she quit her high paying job immediately before he was chosen as VP? I think she's still all in on this, because I also think she has more conviction than he does

I always hate the entire Thanksgiving-xmas span of the year because it's very much advertised as a family time. I'm not saying I'm miserable going through life alone, but it does make me somewhat bitter that American culture shoves what I never had in my face annually
