So glad to know Reddit is continuing to support such an incredible feature. What would anyone do without purchasable NFT avatars? I think when I jumped ship for the third party app stuff, they were doing special limited run avatars that were like $100 each. I'm sure it's even better now!
I think I know what they're talking about. A few years ago I believe Reddit was using the MaGiC of BlOcKcHaIn for storing Reddit avatar outfits, and if you had enough karma they gave you a couple options for free when they were rolling it out. They were stored in some sort of wallet or something and could be shuffled around, like a fucking Reddit NFT but the website actually used them to display certain images on your profile.
They gave me one of these too...
If that is the case, does that mean they say fursona every time they role-play or take an identity in a non-human context? Like some alternate universe where fursona is the normal word and persona is a portmanteau of person and fursona?
I've added a new rule as of 2025/07/16 after a user report. The Code of Conduct doesn't really have any sort of "don't be a jerk" catch all for posts, so I've added one for this community. It's purpose is to allow removal of singular toxic posts (e.g. "Fuck you, this is such a brain-dead take," "I hate this, stop posting your unfunny shit"). The appended rule is added to the main post, but I will also include the snippet below. Let me know if you have any issues with this rule, and we can try to refine it if necessary.
5. Don’t be a jerk — Have tact, don’t antagonize other posters.
A catch all rule for things which don’t explicitly fall under the code of conduct, but where it’s clear someone is needlessly attacking a poster or commenter, and making the community a less welcoming space in doing so. If you disagree with someone, or dislike a post which doesn’t break rules, please respond without being intentionally demeaning, hostile, or otherwise insulting to them. This is a community focused around jokes, memes, and relatable images, and people should be able to share or discuss relevant things without being attacked over it.
Feel free to discuss and disagree, but if it seems like you’re more interested in being a jerk than sharing an opinion, your post will be removed.
Holy shit I had no idea you could do this, what an awesome feature.
EDIT: You can even press 1 to bring the answer into the launcher search and do the next step of the operation or copy it if you want, bliss.

Can't say I agree with glorifying toxicity as the basis of what makes art or artists "better." I also don't agree with the implication of promoting ideas that other's self expression (or your own) is inferior because of less technical understanding or execution. Art is simply the genuine desire to create and express yourself, and that should always be innately positive and rewarding. That doesn't mean you won't learn new things as you keep going, but I will tell you that I am far more interested in the emotion than any final result. I remember my stories and why I chose to create, and hold my past expressions with the same appreciation that I do for my current artwork. I am simply happy that I chose to create, and feel the same way when others do too.
Honestly I tend to value the people with lower experience more, because I know they are choosing to open up and share their stories even when it's clear they don't do so frequently or comfortably yet. Everyone should feel like they can participate and be who they are without being shredded alive for technical performance. It was daunting to get over my anxieties and share anything a long time ago, and if I was met with such vitriol then, there is absolutely no chance I would've continued to express myself and gain more self confidence as a person and an artist. I would've simply accepted that I was inferior. Why would we want to promote that culture, to crush the vulnerable?
If you catch one, does that make you a carrier pigeon? If so, congratulations courier!
