I’d bet “AI” isn’t replacing Sustainability Specialists so much as displacing them because the two are mutually exclusive at a company. A company can’t put effort into sustainability while utilizing “AI” because “AI” by its very nature is destroying the environment. Its energy usage is so high that new power plants have to be built. The data centers use so much drinkable water for cooling that they can exceed the total usage of medium cities. As if those two weren’t enough, it’s not even accurate; “AI” hallucinates, it’s Clippy on both steroids (all that electricity and water) and LSD.
