On Reddit, the Joe Rogan subreddit organically developed into a forum for trashing Joe Rogan. I think it's embarrassing that the most popular JK Rowling community on the Fediverse isn't dedicated to exclusively reporting on her quest to dehumanize and erase trans people.

There are plenty of places where discussion of her abhorrent views are either suppressed, or allowed to exist alongside fun memes about the work that funds her vendetta against women. If there is any uplifting moral message contained in those books, then the primary community for Harry Potter on the Fediverse should exist to lead a revolt against the author.

June is Pride month, and Rowling has announced her intention to use her fortune to escalate attacks on trans people. I'm surprised there are people who think we should be discussing anything else here but that. I know people love sharing uplifting HP memes, maybe a separate community can be created for that purpose. We could call it !slytherinmemes or !umbridgesoffice to highlight how evil it is to continue to fund her work, or !jkrownlingisatransphobe or !jkrowlingisabigot to play on the ironic meme common in community namespaces like /r/marijuanaenthusiasts being about arboriculture while /r/trees is about marijuana.

I love the meme is based on the tarot art of 7 of swords carrying swords and the 9 of swords mounted on the wall, and is consistent with the number of items collected increasing from left to right :)

I don't think the interceptor is expected to survive a successful interception. In the case of a miss, it will be reusable tho, unlike other defense munitions. Your uncle is correct in that work isn't given to inmates for their benefit or edification. It's to line the pockets of those in charge. If the state wanted prisoners to more easily 're-integrate' into society, they would let them form unions and pay them a decent wage for their labor. Instead, they'll either abuse their authority to get the inmates to work for peanuts and pocket the difference, or they'll pass the work to one of their cronies.

One of the roles of prison labor is to undermine organized labor outside of the prison. Prisoners are often employed outside of the prison in addition to doing work to maintain the prison. By forcing them to compete for jobs with slaves, it undermines non-incarcerated laborers' bargaining power and pressures them to accept conditions closer to incarceration.

I don't blame your uncle for his position; life in prison is extremely tedious, and the quality of what you're given makes commissary essential. People outside need to organize with people inside to create a situation that benefits both.
