difference being in your picture the search engine presents it as a hit on your search phrase, in the example in the article the ai presents it as an answer to the question. There's an important difference there.

because then every base would be 'base 10'

That or the decriarchy has been normalizing the decimal counting system as the default one for far too long!

just as theres no single numeral for 10 in base 10, theres no numeral for 4 in base 4.

I highly doubt that chain of causation to be true. Had people paid more, the producers would still lower their cost base as much as possible, in order to maximize profits.
