Syncthing to my selfhosted proxmox server at home then rclone encrypted and unencrypted depending on content, to my cloud storage. Fully automtatic meanwhile.
Rclone syncs to various cloud services so the provider doesn't matter from a technical point of view.
The latest announcements regarding windows also brings me to the linux route again.
While I use it in the home environment I still have some software that must work. I will test drive on an older laptop first and will see how far it goes.
For server / network I already use linux a lot, for desktop I am still not conviced, yet.

It started with typing in BASIC code out of magazines. Used an Apple II those days. I missed the step going into pascal, C etc and stuck with basic syntax more or less my whole life. Not spagetti code anymore but still some BASIC derivates. B4X is what I use on Android now to create native APK.
Also I love IDEs with an integrated graphical interface designer. VB6 was my thing.
Over the years I used assembler, sql, bash also but always as tools to get my hardware to do what I need. The software I wrote was/is for my own convenience at work and in private. Written for PC and Android.
I tried to go commercial one time but the lawyer I talked to shattered my dreams because of insurance requirements when you write software used in peoples air transport business. If something goes wrong you really have a problem.
My Android software uses databases filled with scraped data so can't make them official as well. The royalty fees to pay if I try the official route kills every attempt before starting.
So it's still a hobby, very satisfying but not more.

Das Argument "bei mir zuhause" war gedacht um zu zeigen das ich Linux durchaus benutze. Sollte keine Ausrede sein.
Ich behaupte auch nicht das Windows billiger ist, wobei richtiger Support bei Linux auch nicht umme ist.
Schaut euch diese Stat Seite an.
Egal ob Worldwide, Europa oder Deutschland der Desktop share ist bei Linux immer im einstelligen Bereich. Ob uns das gefällt oder nicht. Woran hängt dies, das können nicht alles Idioten sein und alle keine Ahnung haben.
Wenn Linux in allen Bereichen so viel besser ist warum benutzt es dann nicht jeder? Die Gründe sind sicherlich vielfältig.
Sollten wir das ändern jep, es ist nie gut wenn ein Konzern alles in der Hand hat. Europa hätte sicherlich die Möglichkeit einen neuen Standard zu etablieren.
Der Title liest sich wie die Ansage kurz bevor Leroy Jenkins losrennt.
Du spielst zuviel MMO wenn. .......
Zum Beispiel Office und der Austausch, Bearbeitung von Win Formaten. Docx mit Tabellen oder Excel mit Macros. Bist dort schnell an der Grenze.
Wenn der Nutzer nicht nur lokal unterwegs ist dann bleibt nur der Weg über Office 365 pder Wine wenn die Dokumente anspruchsvoller werden. Dann bin ich eh wieder bei win.
Jetzt kann natürlich das Argument kommen das der normale Nutzer eh mit einem Editor schon überfordert ist aber der Geschäftspartner aus dem rest der Welt vielleicht nicht.
Die Welt spricht leider immer noch Windows und dessen kompatible Standardsoftware.
Sorry, nur das es keine Lösung ist.
Nicht falsch verstehen, ich nutze linux im homeserver, homecontrol, network, SBC etc sehr intensiv seit Jahren.
Nur als produktiv, in Verwaltung und Geschäftsumfeld und von der Bedienung sowie user experience her ist es leider noch keine Lösung. Nicht im backend server sondern am Arbeitsplatz meine ich . Server ist kein Thema.
