Totally agree, but like I said, years ago we didn't know any different. no excuse now though. Can't afford the pet? Don't have one. There are questions being asked about vet prices here in UK at the moment. £25 for a couple of pills etc. There were some drops I was advised to put on my cat's food - £45 from the vet, under £10 online :-(

The autism in dogs part got me as well.

I know what you mean about some people and the cost though, vet bills are $teep!

Thinking back to when we had pets when I was a kid (1960s) we never took them to vets etc. unless ot was absolutely necessary. We couldn't afford it and we didn't know better. Now, I spend more on my cat's teeth than I do my own!

I thought was a spoof post - then I saw it was USA. And now those morons will push it onto FB and even more morons will pick up on it. And animals will suffer because of human stupidity.

That's excellent. Pity we don't make more use of things like that now.

Oops, just looked at the other link!

But they are British. So they're allowed to do it.

A couple of the people I served with in the Army moved abroad after years of slagging off forriners. One went to Hungary, but came back pretty sharpish when he developed cancer and needed long term treatment only available on the NHS. Another lives in the Pyrenees and his FB posts are all about local events and in French. What annoys me is that he still spouts off about what a great idea brexit was. He wouldn't understand irony if it kicked him in the balls.

Yep. That's brexit!

I wonder if they're going to buy 30,000 new PCs or just download and install a distro.

I'll try and track some down - thanks

Exactly. Further to the 'pre-war' comment, I'd suggest it started when they took Crimea. I think they were warming up with Chechnya and Georgia.

Meanwhile our politicians bicker and squabble about what toilets people should be using.

Well they did say monorail!

Like they used to be? In UK we have miles and miles of waterways. Birmingham has more mileage of canals than Venice and is just one hub on hundreds of miles of navigable water. We used to use them a lot and would be doing ourselves and the planet a favour by using them again. Not everything has to be delivered yesterday.
