Eh renting is something that people need, and some people prefer. At least a local woman owning a couple spots keeps the money in the community instead of an out of state owner paying an out of state management firm to pay some dude peanuts to live there and actually run it or whatever.

This is the key problem of the housing market. For generations we've been told the only way to wealth is home ownership - so nobody will ever support more housing because you don't live in a house, or a neighborhood, you live in an investment and you've put all your retirement eggs into this single investment instead of diversifying. So, if new housing pushes value down you don't see "Hey new neighbors" you see "there goes my retirement."

Now, of course, institutional investors are involved and we're just all fucked.

Oh you don't have to apologize, I'm fully aware that's the point! I just thought I was immune to ugly memes by now I guess haha.

The common thread I get from dems is that camps are perfectly fine as long as it's not lgbtq folk.

Any other qualifier is A-OK and not a bad thing at all.

The problem is that liberals are entrenched in a status quo. They recognize that systems are broken but aren't willing to give up those systems and instead talk about "fixing" systems that are working as intended and therefore can't be "fixed." Even progressive liberals are still mostly right wing so they still want things to work the way they do. For example, liberals may be pro-union but they still intrinsically believe in a company's right to extract the maximum amount of value from it's workers - They believe in that relationship, in the company's ownership of that created economic value rather than the worker's.

That's why you see most Democrats, especially voters, attacking leftists far more than you ever see them attack Republicans. They agree with Republicans on most things (which is why elections have become exclusively culture wars - they all agree that late stage capitalism is bae,) but leftists represent another way entirely and that threatens their status quo. For example, single payer health care. We could see better care for FAR cheaper than we pay privately, but even most liberals just see it as "paying for everyone else" even if their out of pocket cost is lower and by definition EVERYONE is paying into it.

To be clear, I'm speaking generally, not about you personally. I don't know you so I've no grounds to judge you. I'm sure you're a perfectly fine internet rando. :P

I live near the projects (no judgement, I had my stint in the pjs) and there's a dude who lives there who flies a "don't tread on me" flag. Guess he doesn't mind treading so long as it's paying his rent though. 🤔

He recently upgraded it to the "thinly veiled let's overthrow the gubmint insurrection 1776" flag. It makes me want to drop a note in his mailbox asking who will pay his rent if he overthrows the govt?

Neither is Biden. Neither is any Democrat. When faced with even a hint of moving left of mid right dem establishment the dnc went to court to affirm that they do what they want.

Telling yourself the guy who sidesteps congress to supply and fund genocide is less fascist than the guy who wants to sidestep congress to back genocide is lunacy.

I'm not sure why you think adhering to the system you admit is busted helps you as democrats race rightward because you'll vote for them no matter what.

Dems are already actively supporting genocide and sidestepping congress to do so. It's insane that you think they'll stop there.

Y'all prove my point every day on here though, dems and their voters use every faschie tool in the box against anybody left of them, but yall never have boo to say about Republicans cause you need your boogeyman to justify marching further right.
