This. People who believe the reasoning behind this need to understand that the same arguments were made last year and the idea was laughed at.
What's different is Biden took on another proxy war on the side of genocide and tiktok is the only platform they can't prevent using the word "genocide"
A federal tiktok ban is a desperate attempt to keep young people from discussing Joes pet genocide where they can't be censored by the us govt.

This is the thing for me, everyone who makes that argument is actually saying "a temperature change won't make us extinct." They don't care that we'll go extinct from the effects because cars go brrrr.
The idea that affording $3k also means you can afford a $3k mortgage falls under what I'm saying about people swinging too far in the other direction - affording $3k in rent =/= affording a $3k mortgage plus taxes/insurance plus upkeep etc etc.
That being said our credit system is 100% busted. Engaging in predatory lending to build a credit score should not be the only way to "prove" financial fitness. Just because I pay my credit cards off every month doesn't mean I don't still waste like $300/mo on doordash 🤣
