They don't forget it exists, they just haven't quite managed to destroy it yet.

Custom music, crafted to my interests and tastes and sung specifically for me. Most of the music is never heard by another living being, it's completely mine.

A luxury that I wouldn't have predicted possible just two years ago, now anyone can have it.

Those discarded items might not even have his DNA on them. Everyone knows about DNA evidence nowadays, if he's really on the ball it'd be easy enough to pick up some random decoys.

Shh, don't tell the NYPD that.

Nor mine. They'd better not waste their resources coming up here to have a look.

Is it really a civil war when 99% of the people are on one side?

The fact that they're re-running the election rather than just handing it to the #2 candidate should alleviate a lot of these concerns. If after a second run through with full information available and the foreign influence networks suppressed the population still genuinely seems to want the Russian asset in charge then I guess at that point you have to sigh and give it to them.

And even if it doesn't solve the problem it at least makes people feel a bit better about it.

And so, as I said, here we are. In a place where vigilantes gunning down health insurance CEOs is considered reasonable.

Whereas I decide for myself what I think is genocide based on whether I've seen convincing evidence of it being genocide. Like, for example, this Amnesty International report. I don't outsource my sense of morality to judges and let them overrule my own sense of justice.

If an ICC judge one day decided "no, it's okay for Russia to deport the population of Ukraine, the country was always theirs to begin with" would that make it okay somehow? Or would that simply be the time you decided to withdraw your grant of "officialness" to the ICC?

It's not a good place for society to be, I quite agree. Yet here we are.

There are probably ways we could change things so that vigilantes gunning down health insurance CEOs isn't considered a reasonable option.
