They were paying over half their forage in rent to their cavelord and they still had to have cavemates. At least until caveMao taught them political power comes from the edge of a rock

Still wild to see attitudes of military top brass hasn't changed that much from world war fucking 1. All this talk of breaking the frontline and restarting mobile warfare running right into the reality that modern defensive technology and tactics overwhelmingly favour the defender. You can brag all you want about your fantastic western wunderwaffen champing at the bit to do HoI4 eastern front style encirclements, but you still gotta get through minefields, barbed wire, anti-tank obstacles, drone guided artillery, airstrikes, etc first, and western military minds have 0 experience in that. All NATO knows is colonial oppression campaigns, genocide, and airstriking farmers and shepherds

It took me longer than I care to admit to wake up to just how entrenched white supremacy is in Canada. Part of that was looking back at high school and realizing the university entrance tier classes were almost all white kids from well off families, while the lower trades level classes were where most of the indigenous kids were sent.

They say we don't have segregated schools, but I don't know what else you'd call that shit.

Also you are 100% right, if the average straight white dude thinks you're a fellow Straight White Guy™ they'll let loose with just the most vile racist, sexist, homophobic shit imaginable. I've worked with guys who have come off as fairly decent dudes, but then they go mask off about indigenous people (they can't resist using racist labels) and every racist trope they can think of comes tumbling out. The second they think it's just "the boys" you find out what these people really think

To translate it to American™: the Biden Brand and his No Malarky slogan is already known to American voters, the Dems launching a new candidate would be like launching a competitor to Oreos or Wonderbread. Sure it might have its own virtues and advantages, but most people are going to go with what the recognize over an unknown ~~product~~ candidate, even if they are for all intents and purposes identical

I ride on the sidewalk when I can because I do not want to be run over by some frothingfash in a truck with a 12" lift who's infuriated by having to see a bicycle

It's got a holy motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got holy tires, holy suspensions, holy shocks. It's a model made before the protestant reformation so it'll run good on regular indulgences. What do you say, is it the new Popemobile or what?

Which disaster are you referring to? I haven't been on reddit-logo besides some niche hobby stuff since they did the API changes and broke RiF
