I think this was said on Chapo awhile ago, but boomers are willing to stack millions of corpses on the southern border so they can live in their Floridian retirement communities that will be underwater in a decade. I don't like to engage in generational politics but western boomers are largely ghoulish, soulless individuals who think they're the only "real" person and everyone else exists to serve them in one way or another

Also a tangent but it made me think of how back in October the CBC was publishing a graph of Palestinian deaths vs Israeli deaths for the first few weeks, then they suddenly stopped including the graph when Palestinian deaths rose to 3 or 4 times the Israeli deaths.

Maybe there is a limit to how much open genocide america will publicly support. But seeing as america is still supplying them with the weapons israel needs to commit mass murder I think it's more a propaganda move than anything. I think Joe "nothing will fundamentally change" Biden will hold true to that and support israel for the foreseeable future

yea it fucking sucks. I went to an event put on by my old uni's anthropology club about what jobs you can get with an anthropology degree. The options were either get a masters/phd for academia, work for a corporate archaeology firm that exists to give the green light to resource extraction, or go into marketing/advertising and use your knowledge to advertise to people more effectively. Shit is bleak

They were pursuing a father that kidnapped his kid, they knew the kid was in the vehicle, and the opened fire anyway and killed both of them. Of course the charges were dropped. KKKlanada cops are just as bad as anywhere else

Amerikkka abstained, and the resolution also calls for the immediate release of all hostages. It's unclear to me if they mean the release of only those being held in Gaza or if Palestinians being held captive would also be released. For some reason I think they only mean the captive Israelis should be released

Slaughterhouse work is also incredibly traumatic, I had a friend in uni that worked in one for a summer or two and it was what caused him to become a vegetarian. I won't go into details but I am completely unsurprised that people with any other option would leave town for greener pastures.
